Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
No I don't want any frost on the ground, I'm leaving cold weather. Is central Florida a good place to be? I'm probably looking at $600.00 per month more or less. I would like to be around attractions that are fairly close. We are going to be in Florida in the first part of November. Do you recommend we book now for January to April? Thanks for any info that anyone can give me.
We are going to be in Florida also for the winter months. It will be our first winter there with RV in fulltiming. We have made reservations at some Thousand Trail Parks, since we joined last Feb. Other than that we plan to see if we like it if not we will just move on. You should have some kind of plans in the works. Our first 3 wks will be in Clinton, Fl. Southwestjudy
$600 a month or less would be Central Florida and the Panhandle away from the Gulf. But the panhandle will get more frosts and you can't get completely away from frost until you get into the south. You should be able to find places around Ocala south to Lake Placid or so that would fit what you want. Some friends are quite happy with Wilderness RV Park Estates in Silver Springs, FL and I think it matches what you are after. We are not much for activities so we can't say much that way. There are also many choices around Lakeland, but I do not know names. I think that around Crystal River there are some reasonably priced campgrounds. www.rvparkreviews.com should help. The further south you go the more consistently warm it gets and the prices go up.
Our only long stay was in Fort Myers Beach and it cost more than $600 a month. We are thinking about going back the winter of 2009/2010.
I do know that January is the month that books places the most solidly. This year there will probably be openings as people stay north because of fuel prices and the economy, but who knows. The campgrounds might be coy with you and act like they only have one or two sites when they have more open.
Note: You can reply to your own topic instead of starting it over again.

It's gonna be real tough to find something in that range. We're in a county park in south Fla. and if you're non resident it's 40 per day. We wouldn't be here except it's awfully convienent. Our new grandbaby is only 5 minutes away. Good luck, Dave

We are in Gulf Shores now but will be in Zephyrhills FL. on Jan 1 until Mar. The cost for full hook-ups is $467.00 plus electric. The futher South you go the cost is more. We didn't have a problem getting reservations about 5 months out. This is our first winter in Fla we are or was Winter Texans, and I miss Texas but will try Fla this winter. We are playing $446.00 for everything here in South Ala. Good Luck. GBY....

We are wintering in FL at the present time. We are in the central part and the prices are lower than on the coast. We paid for our site back in March of this year and we got a 6 month plan. It was cheaper to get the long term plan and for this year we are paying less than $2400 for the six months. It is one of the cleanest and prettist parks we were ever in and the activities that they have can keep your busy all of the time. Last spring when we were looking at different places to stay we found cheaper but didn't have what they do here.
We are in central florida as well in Port Richey a mile from the gulf. The park here is beautiful and the price is right. We are also paying 2400 for six months. If we choose to leave our 5th wheel here it's 30 a month for 6 months. We also pay the electrical which shouldn't be much. We decided to have a homebase and we will travel from here. Lots of activities here as well.
We will be in Central Florida shortly. If you haven't already committed check out Ocala RV Sun Resort (just google it) We're staying there in our MH along with 26' enclosed trailer, on site, for less than $500 per month and the resort has a ton of amenities. Hope to see you at water aerobics every morning at 9. Enjoy!!
