Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

campgrounds in Florida

I'm wondering if someone can give use some suggestions.  We are looking for a campground with activities, etc..not too expensive. We plan on staying for at least a month.  I'm finding it extremely overwhelming trying to find a nice place.  Thanks you for any info.  that I can get.

I think you are going to have to give us more information.  Florida is quite large and more diverse than it sounds.  You can stay the winter in DeFuniak Springs cheaply but will have frost on the ground more often than you expect.  If you want alligators and birds around you need to be where they are.  What kind of activities?  What month do you mean since in January many places are booked solid?  What kind of pricing are you looking for?  How about the kind of shopping and restaurants you would like in a reasonable distance?

Hi!  I know a great little campground along the water in Jensen Beach, Florida.  It's called Pitchford's by the sea.  Give them a call.  It's old Florida style, on the water, and in a great little town!biggrin

We stay at a great RV Resort in central Fl., as we are not water people.  It is north of Sebring on Rt. 27 in Avon Park.  It is an open park in that it is not under any dirty trees or Spanish moss.  All of the trees are palm trees.  I don't know about a 1 month stay as most of the people are there for 6 months.  Their are plenty of activities to keep you busy. There is a lot to see and do in the area as the South Fl. Community College is located there and they have a lot of shows throughout the winter, also the Sebring race track is less than 20 miles away, if you want something closer they have the Lawn Mower races in the area. You can follow the web site that we have listed.

We are also looking for a park in FL at a reasonable price for the month of March 2010. My sister and her husband are staying at Siesta Key and my DH has a friend at Bradenton so we'd like to be as close as we can. Any ideas?
