Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I was wondering if any of you are attending the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta this year. It starts today and the weather isnt supposed to be very good for the starting of it. We are missing it this year still in Pa. with family. southwestjudy
The first Mass Ascention of 600+ balloons was spectacular (especially the Dawn Patrol) and by evening rain/wind arrived and the evening Glow was cancelled. The Mass Ascention for Sun was also cancelled due to the unusual weather. www.balloonfiesta.com
I am a first timer and it was hands down an event not to be missed. Wow. Friends even drove for 7 hours to base camp with me in my rig currently in Santa Fe and said the trip for them (14 hours in one weekend) was positively worth it.
I was glad to read someone made it to the Balloon Fiesta its awesome!! If you want to even have a shot at helping a chase crew sign up for one. it can be work but lots of fun. Some of our friends had their own balloon and we did the Dawn Patrol many times. We also did the rally in Pagosa Springs, Co. one year and White Sands. The colorful balloons on those White Sands are great pixs. southwestjudy
Bad weather seems to haunt these festivals. We crewed at the Red Rock Balloon Festival in Gallup 2 years ago and the first morning it was -7 degrees. It wasn't much fun holding the balloon mouth open with the fan blowing it up I'll tell you.
