Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Escapees Forum?

Has anyone else had a difficult time accessing the Escapees' forum for the past few days?  I received a message to set up a new password on Friday but haven't been able to access the forum since.  www.escapees.com doesn't seem to work either.  Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

keep in mind that Hurricane Ike just went through that area.  they may not be there, power lines may be down, etc.

be patient, they'll be back online!

I was on the site just before Ike hit and there was a post to expect the site to be down for "an undetermined amount of time".

We had reservations in West Houston and the park called and asked us to cancel because there were so many people without homes they needed the space we had reserved. There are some people here in the park from Beaumont that said they have been told they may have to wait five weeks or longer to go home.

On another web site, someone wrote in and said that they had heard that Livingston got hit pretty hard. This person said that there were trees down, and some damage to buildings, so I would imagine it will be awhile before they are up and running again.

Our main hope is that no one was hurt, and that the damage wasn't too bad.

Escapees uses their own computers to work as servers for their website and forum now so they will be offline as long as they do not have their high speed internet connection and electric power.  When the website comes back up you know both the phone lines and electric power are working at Rainbow's End.

We have many friends there and wish them all the luck and hope no one was hurt or worse.

Just got this email:

HURRICANE IKE – Update from Escapees RV Club

September 17, 2008

Electricity and telephone service to the Escapees RV Club, Rainbow Parks, Inc., and Rainbow’s End is intermittent and unreliable.

If you are able to get through on any of the telephone numbers associated with Escapees RV Club, Rainbow Parks, Inc., and Rainbow’s End, do not leave a message. We will be unable to retrieve messages and they may be lost.

Please call back on Monday, September 22 with forwarding instructions and club inquiries.

ALSO -- thank you to everyone who has expressed a desire to come to Livingston and help with the clean up.  We now have enough staff in place to accomplish our goals.  Thank you!

More news as it happens!

And it looks like they're back online, website and forum
