Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Hi from midMichigan!

Hi,
I've wanted to run away from home for a long time.  I've joke for a few years about selling the house and everything in it and buying a 5th wheel.  Only taking a few clothes and the contents of my sewing room!  I was semi-serious but everyone thought I was just being funny.
Well yesterday my daughter's old room mate stopped by and said she was moving to Arizona to live with her uncle.  He lives in a trailer of some kind full time in an RV park.
Well that just got me fired up about the idea more than ever.  I'm single, going to be 52 on Friday, my youngest just graduated from H.S. and its my time!!!
I'm thinking of 2 years.  My only considerations are my health and my elderly parents in the area.  Both of my brothers left Michigan 20+ years ago and I'm the only one nearby.  They are both 86 and my dad is declining rather quickly
cry and my mom is still line dancing 3 times a week.  Don't feel right about leaving.
I can start my plan though.  It may take a couple years to sell the house and I have 1/2 completed projects to finish which have been taking forever.  Also I'm looking at my belongings (junk) with a different eye already.  I don't need most of this stuff! If it comes down to it, I can park my rig in their driveway.
I'm working part time right now (lawyer approved) after being off work for a year for various medical conditions.  I'm waiting for my hearing for my disability claim.
I want to supplement the S.S. with my internet sewing business.  (in the beginning stages at this time).
I was happy to find this site and have spending time looking at blogs and ebay and other links I've found.  I have no idea about 5th wheels and pickups (other than the rig my parents had for 6 months that my poor dad sheared the roof off of the 5th wheel on a church awning in Ohio) cry  It was really nice too.
I'm going to keep reading and thanks to all that are posting here.  I'll get it all figured out with your help.
