Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We are so excited about becoming full-time RVers, just as soon as our house sells. I turned 60 Wednesday and we put the house on the market yesterday. We are both retired and have adult children living in Georgia, Florida & Texas, who probably think we're crazy for selling our home and possessions to buy an RV. Life is short and we want to be able to see all that we can see.
We've traveled to Elkhart, IN and Grand Rapids, MI looking at Class A diesel motorhomes and have decided to purchase a Newmar Dutch Aire. If you have any knowledge about Newmar's, please let us know. Will we have problems at campgrounds with a 43' MH?
We have been extremely pleased with our Newmar motor home all the way around...quality, fit and finish as well as the Cummins engine, Spartan chassis, etc. As for fitting in the campgrounds...that depends on the type of campgrounds you choose to use. It will be "tight" for you in some - especially older, smaller parks, but generally you'll be okay, especially out west. Good luck with your house sale!
We are also very happy with our Newmar product. We also have a 2004 4015 Dutch Star, just like mcw50.
The Dutch Aire is a new variant from Newmar between the Dutch Star and Mountain Aire. 43' feet will limit you on campgrounds, but 40' also limits us on campgrounds.
Your children should be seeing more of you if you can come to their places in Florida, Georgia and Texas than staying in Michigan. Tell them all to put in full hookups for you.

Lot of friendly helpful people here that are willing to answer your questions.
Newmar makes very nice coaches, and has a good reputation, so should be a good choice

Welcome to the forum and congratulations! I have heard nothing but good things about Newmar. When Pam went through the factory in March she was quite impressed.

A&L there aint no way I can afford a Newmar anything but I can welcome you to the forum cuz I missed you coming on. We live in Texas...Dallas area and are fulltiming. If your coming through here give us a shout. We have so many Dreamers here in Texas. We are also having a March Madness gathering in Kerrville Texas. Many Dreamers will be there and you can come and show off your new MH. We would love to have you.
Thanks for the warm welcome. Our trip to Houston this past June was one of our determining factor to go RVing fulltime. We have a son in Houston and friends in Arlington, so we will be in Texas alot.
This is a great site and we're learning so much about Rv's.
