Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
So glad I found this group! I have been reading the original '05 pages and they have helped me and my yo-yo-ing emotions sooo much! Thanks, Howard and Linda!
I was widowed in Feb last year after ten very happy years being married to and traveling part-time with the most wonderful man. We met in Loners on Wheels, and each of us had a fifth wheel and a pickup. It took us two years after we were married to agree on which one to sell.
My background is in teaching elementary school, monitoring day care centers, and managing state-funded contracts for services to abused and neglected children and their families. My husband insisted that I take early retirement so that we could travel, bless his heart!
I left on a two-month trip last February, but when I returned "home" I didn't want to move back into the house. So I have been living in my MH for 6 months now, and am getting ready to put my house up for sale. Reading Howard and Linda's experiences and advice about selling out have helped me know that I'll be able to get through this without a major breakdown. The kids are coming to get what they want at the end of this month, and then I'll probably take the easy way out and have an estate sale. My house is less than one mile from the Escapees Rainbow's End in Livingston, Texas, so I think it will move pretty quickly. I'll leave the furniture for showing and give buyers the option of having it furnished or not.
I'm so looking forward to reading more on the threads, and "meeting" all of you guys. Solos forum will be next!

Welcome, Welcome!! I'm glad you found us! Howard and Linda are super people and you will find the folks here at rv dreams warm and knowledgeable. We too are in the process of getting our house ready for the market----spent the weekend painting and have more to do YUK!!! After spending the winter in Florida, I was depressed at moving back into the house. Once it is all prettied up and on the market we will be back in the fifth wheel--can't wait. We also travel with two furballs. They are wire haired fox terriers, Cosmo and Belle. We plan to be back on the road by November and westward bound! Don't be a stranger on the forums and check out the "chat room" it is addicting, but great fun!!
