Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
As I had explained in my previous post, my electric awning was having issues. My dealer found there was not enough voltage going to the awning and traced the problem to a bad battery on the house side. The battery will be replaced pro-rated under warranty, but it is one of three batteries in my bank. You should not mix new and old batteries, so I have purchased two new batteries to go along with the one being replaced under warranty. The batteries are over 18 months old, even though I have had the MH just 11 months. I guess the chassis sat at the WB plant for a while before the body was put on.
I could have chanced it, but with the expensive electronics in my rig and a cross country trip next June, I chose to err on the side of caution. I'd rather not have to try out my ERS if I can help it.
Best Regards!

Hey Paul, I am glad that the problem is solved! We can reference this solution next time someone has a problem with the awning such as you had. Thanks for coming back and updating us with your findings.
The repair place could not duplicate our problem with our Weather Pro awning and neither could we. We suspect it take hot weather to cause a failure, but it is going in and out fine. Cost us about 15 minutes of shop rate.
