Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Well off to Ala this morning to get our new Big Horn 3600RL (Not). The Dealer had parked our Big Horn between two Land Marks and then I made a mistake and let Delaine look at the Land Mark (Augusta). Well we will be towing the new Land Mark (Augusta) back to Tennessee tomorrow around nood. Thanks to those who replyed to our question about the Big Horn. Life is good and Delaine is happy. So am I, what a Country. GBY....

I feel for you, we are now looking at the Landmark. what are you pulling with 3500? We are looking at a 4500 due to the combined weight allowance.
Who/where in Ala. was the dealer? If it's not too far away we might be interested in taking a short trip to have a look-see... These spiraling gas prices sure have put a crimp in taking a drive now and then for things like this....
Congratulations. You made a good choice. We saw our first Landmark in Grand Rapids, Michigan a couple of weeks ago and was very impressed with the workmanship and quality. It is a well thought out product and if we were looking today it would be on the top of our short list. I would suggest towing it with nothing less than a one ton, probably a 450/4500 would be better. Loaded it would be too much weight for a 2500 HD - the Duramax diesel would pull it with no problem but I would be concerned with breaking capacity.
Drive Safely, Have Fun, and God Bless

We really haven't used the Landmark but two trips to Ala. and one trip to Clarksville Tn. The only problem we have had was with the LCD HDTV had to take it back and get it flashed, the problem was it would come on during the night. Got it flashed and haven't had a problem. We also had some scratches in the counter top. Got it buffed out and the scratches are gone. Only dislikes is the color of the carpet and don't care for the stainless steel 4door fridge they dent very easy. Had a dent when we got the Landmark and Heartland sent replacement doors. We fail to lock the door and the next morning we made a move accross town and your right another dent. Delaine made a Mod and it look fine.
Our Chevy 3500 DRW's handles it just fine, we had a Chevy 4500 Kodiak and it was a awesome Truck but it being a heavy Truck we were over the 26,000 GVCW. Thats the only negative with going to the 4500 series trucks. However we now don't take all the stuff we had when we were full timing. We learned that we had stuff we didn't use so now we don't load anything we don't use. Our weight was 22,180 with the Landmark, but we didn't have clothes and dish wear so we will be right at our limit. We only take enough water to flush the John. Our Cambridge when we were full timing the weight was 25,600 with the 3500 with the 4500 we were almost 28,000. So if your thing of going to a 4500 the GVTW will be 26,000 vs 23,500 for the 3500. We did have disk brakes so we never had a problem stopping. With the new IBC on the 2008 Chevy 3500 is leap years ahead of the Prodigy we had, but I think the IBC is from the same company.
We are going to Texas next month so we will see how the Landmark does, I really believe it will be fine. The Landmark is a well buildt 5th wheel, the 12" I beam frame rails adds a lot of weight, but its very well put together. But with 4 slides you need the 12" frame. GBY...
There is a Heartland Dealer in Decatur Ala.

Wish you all the best in your new Landmark. We have a 2005 Landmark Golden Gate. Fulltiming since Feb. 2008, Left Rhode Island traveled to Florida to spend the winter. East coast, West coast, Keys, Panhandle. Now we are traveling in west Texas. The Landmark has been great, very few issues. We scaled at 21,000 GVW. The Jake brake is fantastic on our Dodge 3500. The Cummings pulls the trailer like a train. Ave 11.3/gal. Great customer service from Heartland. Hitch'em up, move'm out. Ken
