Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
After 13 long months, we have a buyer! They are ready to move in---we close in 10 days! Today was the day to give 2 weeks notice at w*rk, get a storage place for some of our stuff, and make plans to drive south until we can buy stone crabs and key lime pie! Thanks to all for this great community.

Wow, only 10 days to close! That is scary. Should that happen when we put on market in about a month, we would have a whole lot of hussling to do. Good luck and congrats!
drive south until we can buy stone crabs and key lime pie Wonderful news about selling the house.
Not to put a damper on your enthusiasm, but February is high, high season for southern Florida campgrounds and it is hard to get a campsite and you get to pay high dollar for them. By mid-march the availability goes up. We are in Fort Myers Beach right now.

Great news!!! Isn't it amazing how you wait and wait and then all of a sudden everything breaks loose?
As bjoyce says, it does get crowded down here in FL, but call around. Sometimes people cancel, or have to leave early. You'll find someplace to park that rig!

YAY!!! Congratulations!!! I know exactly how you're feeling. Everybody's right about how crowded FL gets in the winter. I lived there and saw it happen every year. We're not going back until mid-march where we can get into this Broward County park that we like but we won't stay long cuz it starts getting really hot by April.
After I sent the email we went up north to Venice for the afternoon. We came back via US41 (Tamiami Trail) and from just south of Punta Gorda to North Fort Myers we saw two campgrounds advertising they had openings but did not catch the names of the places. A couple more had signs saying "no vacancy" so not all of the campgrounds have vacancies. No ideas on pricing but there are possibilities for places to stay.

If Sarasota is far enough south, try the Sun-N-Fun RV resort....nice, fun and warm too! They usually have a few openings!
Have a great time!

We are presently at Sun-N-Fun till April. We would suggest that you call for openings as there are always units coming and going. It is a very busy Resort and in a good area.
Congrats on the selling of your house and good luck in all of your furtue travels and journeys.
Congratulations to you! Wishing you many great times on your new adventures. Our home is still for sale. We're waiting patiently, and hearing your good news made us so happy for you, and gave us hope ! The KOA had openings on Big Pine Key near Key West when our friends just were searching. Key Lime Pie down in the Keys is one of our favorites. Good luck.
