Hi guys,

It will depend on your lifestyle. If you plan to move about a lot, then you probably wouldn't have as many opportunities to play board games. However, if you stay in one park for several weeks at a time you will meet people who enjoy playing games. In Escapees parks there are generally game nights during the week at the rec hall (I know in Alabama they play games after the ice cream social on Sunday nights). The types of games generally depends on the people - card games, dice games, and domino games are always popular. Hope this helps a little and maybe others will chime in with their favorites.

We (I mostly) love to play games. I really enjoy just about any game. Wes only likes cards and marbles. When we started RVing, I took all our favorite games thinking we would finally have time to play frequently. I don't believe we have even taken them out of the shelf. As a matter of fact, as we are cleaning, remodeling, and rearranging things to get ready for our travel months, I thought we could even relocate them to one of the top, seldom used cupboards. I'm really not ready to give up yet. If we are ever in the same area, give a whistle. I'll be ready to play!!

I do play a lot of games on the computer, but it is a poor substitute for the social game time with other people.

Pretty much the same for me. Art has never cared much for games of any kind, but me and my kids have always enjoyed Yatzee, Poker, Monopoly and others. I kept just a few, in hopes when the kids/grandkids are around, we can pull them out and enjoy the good ol days.

We, too, have a variety of games, both board and bored, but one gets most of the action and the others are likely to get donated. Scrabble gets a workout, as does our minds, at least three to five times a week. The competition is fierce, and the compliments on winning very sincere. It surely keeps our minds sharp. Okay, used if not sharp.

Mental stimulation is wonderful! We just received an "H" in the mail to replace a lost tile. We are always seeking other Scrabblers.

If you enjoy meeting new people what better way to spend an evening together then with someone who enjoys playing the "Board Games" as much as you do. As stated before, many campgrounds have a gathering area for getting together, so laying out your board game is an invitation of others to join in.

I have been introduced to many variations of card games, dominos, Mexican Train, and others games. Someone will be curious about what you have to offer, so what better opportunity to break the ice by inviting your fellow RVers to learn and enjoy your board games.

If I remember correctly, games like Monopoly take a lot of time and some people would not want to invest more than an hour playing a game, but other type of board games that take 20 to 30 minutes can be used as a way to meet and make friends and perhaps after making friends, they may be willing to invest the hour or more to play a Monopoly game.

Thank you for all your replies. I'm taking a couple of my favorites, including dominoes. The bigger boards take up space so will sell/give away those. I have to keep the NASCAR monopoly game. I'll be sure to look for the board gamers on the road. Scrabble anyone? wink

I love to play games and my grandkids love to play as well. Our favs at the current time Scrabble, Boggle, Cribbage , Pente, Camping trivia, and any card games. Since they were little they have always teased their mother about "drinking beer (root beer) playing cards and smoking cigarettes (candy cigarettes)" with Grandma. I believe there will be lots of opportunities on the road to meet people playing games. What better way to get acquainted!!

We love Mexican Train Domino's and play at the picnic tables. Its a great game that RV'ers play all over the country. I think Mexican Train orginated on the Texas/Mexican border amongest RV/ers. Any card game is always a welcome.
