When we started out, we thought we might do it for a couple of years. We still don't have any plans to quit. biggrin

Hey guys! Welcome to the forum. It is so good to hear you are so happy with the full-time lifestyle. That is great encouragement to those of us just beginning the adventure. We are in that purging, selling the house, emotional up and down stage LOL. We look forward to hearing your contributions.

I am not sure if i am allowed to welcome you as I never properly introduced myself here, but I will welcome you anyway. Looks like we are a little behind you on the quest here as I want to go fulltime and work also. I am kind of figuring to hang around a place for a week while I work and move on the weekends. That way we get weekly pricing, and I can concentrate on work while using free time to visit local attactions. Nothing would prevent me from staying 2 or 3 weeks either, but that is my thinking. What do you o on thsi front.
I love the layout of your coach with the office in the back. If I look at the new floorplans I do not even see one with a slideout to match your floorplan. Did they customize it for you?
I have been entertaining the thought of using a mid engine toy hauler to give me a nice office area in the back.
I really am cusrious how you got that layout done so PM me if you wish.

We have been moving about every two to three weeks. I like a couple of weeks so are a couple of weekends we can have to play. I think soon we will start shooting for a month at a time, as the monthly rates are typically much better than weekly rates.

This floorplan came with everything you see right off the lot. Unfortunately, Monaco pulled this floorplan in the current model year. In the last couple years (at least), you could get the PLQ 4-slide floorplan in the Knight (40') and the Camelot (42').

We have walked through a ton of coaches looking for something similar. We have gone coach browsing at rallies, dealers, even Lazy Days in Florida. The American Eagle has a mid office, but that is a bit more coach than I would like right now. Plus, after using this floorplan for almost a year, I can not imagine a better layout for us. We use the rear of the coach more than the front (heh).

However, it saves me lots of money because I can't find a coach that would get me out of my Knight smile

Welcome to the forum. You don't have to introduce yourself to post anywhere on this forum, but we like to hear a little about you, so we can get to know you better.

If money is tight, and you can stand being in one place for a longer time, monthly rates (if they are available at the park you are at), are usually better than weekly rates.

As for us, except for a few parks where we have friends, our MH gets itchy tires after about a week or so. biggrin

Welcome to all the new folks who posted in this thread....I'm on day two of babysitting my 20 month old, 5 & 6 yr old grandkids. PHEW! By tonight when the parents get back Nana will be ready for a week of rest! LOL!

Glad to welcome you to the forum. Hope that you can get a lot of information here. We also like your input into different topics, to get all kind of ideas. I do know that Brucedelta was on a couple threads and that we did give input to some of their inquiries. We are workampers presently in NH for another week and than going to Pa. for about 5 weeks and than heading to Fl. for the winter. We are a big family here and we are glad you found us.

Thanks for all the welcomes, I feel like I hijacked Kev's thread. I actually pointed out that I did not introduce myself as I never posted on this forum, but as has been pointed out I have posted on others.
The quick $0.10 on us is that we are in out mid 40's and I have grown really sick of household maintenance and upkeep, in addition to NJ style real estate taxes. Since there are only 2 or us wandering around a 3500 sq ft home I came to realize we have way to much crap filling it and basically spend our lives working for the house and have the house here because we work here. So I have been pestering DW for a few years to sell and downsize to a condo. Awhile ago we saw an article about people who live full time in a RV, and thought "how cool would that be", but never gave it another thought. After looking at Condos and not falling in love with anything we encountered this article in the newspaper:

and that was the beginning of the track we are now on. Basically I hate air travel (I would say more due to the humiliation of TSA lines and emptying pockets, removing shoes, etc as opposed to fear of flying), so we have realized that if we want to see the country then we must do something drastic like this. So the plan is to try to see the US in a 2 year tour and then decide whats next. Maybe we will decide we like it and slow the pace down to take longer, or maybe we will see a place and know we should come back and settle there. The only thing we know is we are ready for a drastic change. I expected my folks to think we are crazy but they think it is a great idea since clearly are not enjoying being in the rat race, so any change is good.
We hope to be full time in a RV as opposed to the home in the spring and then we will live local for a bit while we wind down business affairs and get used to the RV.

It sounds like you are ready for a change in your living home life. Best of Luck in your new change.
We have been doing the full time thing now for a yr this month.
It diffiently has it pros and cons, gives and takes and for us it takes time to get used to even though I am in one yr still not sure it is for me. Yes it is a wonderful way to see the USA and visit friends and relatives and have a place to stay while there.
