Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.


We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

I just realized I posted a question already (yes, the one about the all important virtues of TP on the road).  My husband and I are both retired Air Force and in our early 40's.  After retirement, we moved to Key West on a whim.  We always loved it here so when the opportunity arose to move here we jumped on it.  Right now we are working "fun" j-o-bees at Mel Fisher's Treasures.  Mel Fisher's family is still looking for treasure and we are right in the middle of it.  We love it!  The city is great, the weather is great, the water is beautiful, the hurricanes are not.  We are planning on fulltiming in about 2 years or less.  (Personally, I'm ready to go, but we have a daughter in college here.)  I believe all the moving around we did in the Air Force made us nomadic by nature.  We start itching for something new every few years.  There is so much to see and do and we have family spread out everywhere.  So we are in the initial stages of research.  We plan to attend the Life on Wheels rally, check out some manufacturers and dealers and start getting rid of stuff.  Thanks for sharing all the great information and experiences!

Key West is a favorite place for us, though a bit expensive for camping. (Except for those who can use the Military Famcamps).
What we love about full timing is we don't have to be in Florida during hurricane season, the north when it is too cold, the south when it is too cold, etc. Most every place has times they are best to visit and as a full timer we are flexible.
Right now we are at Life on Wheels in Moscow, ID for our fourth year and it is a wonderful conference to attend to learn about the lifestyle. Many come before they buy, staying in a motel. We all think they are the smartest ones since they are minimizing their mistakes on buying an RV, choosing a home state, and many other decisions. A friend already met a couple who has already realized the RV they have on order is not really right and wished they had waited a few weeks to come to Life on Wheels first.
