Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Successful Garage Sale - and Thanks George!

Well, today we got one baby step closer to full timing and completed our 1st garage sale.  Now we are sitting back watching the Live Earth concert and enjoying a beer.  We started early Friday morning and had steady traffic flow throughout the day, selling about 3/4 of our stuff.   There was much less traffic today, but still sold quite a few things.

It feels really good to be rid of stuff that clutters your life.

I would recommend that anyone planning a garage sale read George Stoltz article on the rv-dreams magazine  - http://www.rv-dreams-lifestyles.com/articles/45/1/Planning-The-Garage-Sale/Page1.html.   We followed his suggestions to a tee and things went extremely well plus we made some extra cash to be added to the 'fulltiming' fund.  Thanks George!

I went back and read George's post and that's about how we had our sales. We had collected quality antiques and collectibles for years and it took 4 sales to part with the stuff we wanted to.(We still have a storage locker full of "stuff" we could not part with yet.)
About the only difference was is we called them Estate Sales. After all, it was our estate we were selling off.
When our home sold the buyer wanted 90 days closing and we were more than happy to comply in order to have the 4 sales.
We were very lucky that we sold almost everything that we wanted to at each of the sales.
It's about a year now and do not regret a thing.
Life is great !!!
Bob
