Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
I am just wondering how you crafty RVers store your craft supplies for safe travel and easy access? I scrapbook and I make dolls, and my supplies are fairly organized now in my home, but they will need to be seriously pared down and reorganized for RV travel. Does anyone have any suggestions on containters and the best areas in the RV to store this type of thing?
I used to do tole painting so I pared down my paints and brought them with me. I carry them in the back of the RV in a container in the cupboard above the recliners. I also brought some of my One Stroke books and various other little stuff. That's about all I brought and I really haven't used it as I find I don't have a place to paint and leave it out for drying. Maybe when we settle down a little more instead of being on the road all the time.
I am a Creative Memories consultant and I would suggest looking at several of the CM organizers that they offer. Also, direct shipment to your next travel address can allow you to get what you need within a few days so you don't have to keep a huge supply. You can check out my website @ www.mycmsite.com/judibrosey or email me back for more info. We do have some great storage packages - some of which are only for consultants but I could order some for you if you wish. They are called "PODS" and they are black vinyl zippered cases, with handles for easy carrying, and they come in all shapes and sizes. We also have single project bags, organizers, etc.

I keep most of my crafting supplies in a big tackle box. It is stored in the outside storage compartment of our fifth wheel. I keep all of my beading supplies in a couple of Craftmates cases. Those are stored in my closet.
I've had to store my 12 x 12 paper under the bed. fortunately I still had some pizza boxes and so far this has worked out. my 8 x 11 paper is also stored in pizza boxes on the shelves in the closet.
my stamps and ink are in cabinets above our chairs (we have a 5th wheel). no matter where my supplies are it takes some effort to get them out!
so far my beads are taking up a small corner! :)
all my yarns and threads are in the cabinets over the bed. more is tucked where ever I could find room. I still have way to much but I just can't part with my craft supplies! and I'm using them as fast as I can....

I store my scrap book supplies in rubbermaid containers and keep them in the cabinets over the chairs in our fifth wheel. Yarn for crocheting is kept under the bed. I keep my sewing machine in the closet along with totes for quilting supplies. My rulers and cutting mat I lay flat on top of our w/d. So far it has worked for me. I want to learn how to do beading so those supplies will probably be kept in the basement storage compartment.

Hi Melinda, I had lots of craft stuff and had to get rid of some of it. We have a class A motorhome with only 1 slide. I have all the space under the bed for my "stuff". It is in containers. I found containers at the craft store that were made for scrapbook papers and they hold quite a lot. I also have paints and one stroke books and yarn. I have two ottomans that have lids and storage and I keep some stuff in those also. I saw a site online where a lady had taken a plastic storage container and covered it with padding and material and uses it for a coffee table and storage area. There are lots of spots to put stuff if you look hard enough. Sally
My paints are all in plastic storage boxes and now since we are doing stained glass I am sure we shall find room for that also. I try keep the paints in the RV not down under as dont want them to leak if they are in a hot climate. For stained glass I have seen some of the gals here have made a wooden storage box with slots for the glass to fit into and it seems to work well when they are traveling no broken pcs. Judy
