Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
We would like to vist these areas in late October/First of November. Can anyone give advise on what the weather will be like? Is it too late in the year? Thanks for any help.
We have camped at the south and north rims of the Grand Canyon. They are both wonderful, beautiful places to see. The north rim closes sometime in Oct. but you need to check the park's web site on that. It closes because of weather. We have been up to Zion and Bryce Canyon Nat'l Parks. I'd think that they may be in a similar situation in weather and closing. You need to check on this. The south rim of the Grand Canyon always stays open. Hope you have a wonderful trip!
The North Rim closes normaly the end of Oct unless snowed in early which happens occasionally. Bryce has been open beyond Oct but don't count on it. It is particularly nice to visit this time of year because it is cool and the trails are great for hiking. Zion is quite a bit warmer and lower in altitude. It should be open later but depends on the weather. On the otherside of the state Moab is gorgeous that time of the year as is Arches and Lake Powell is quite nice if you want to boat for a day or two or decide to houseboat up the lake for a few days. In any case take in Rainbow bridge. Lake Powell is open and dependent only on the weather. If you are on the east side of the Utah creep down into Arizona and see Canyon de Chelley.
Good camping, Larry and Jacki

We spent last Thanksgiving in St. George, UT and Zion National Park. The commercial campgrounds were very full. (Apparently Snowbirds show up in early November.) Without advance reservations, it was difficult to find a site. Weather was wonderful but Zion was very crowded. Because the shuttle system isn't in place that late in the year, driving in Zion was alot like rush-hour traffic in a major metropoltan area. Very difficult to turn around! I would say that it is not too late to see Zion or Bryce.
We went to most of the National Parks in Utah and both rims of the Grand Canyon in September a few years ago, and the weather was great.
I would be very concerned about road conditions in late Oct and early Nov. There are roads in that area that I wouldn't want to be on if they were slick.
