Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
There's a new TV show on for everyone interested in RVing!! HGTV Sunday 9-10pm edt. The name is RV Road Home. It seems to cover everything from travel and all types of RV's. Enjoy!

I saw it last night. It seemed more like a show just showing interiors of various Rv's. I was hoping for something different. Like REAL RV living. I was a little disappointed but will withhold judgment until it is on for a few more weeks. Thanks for bringing it to everyones attention.
You know with all the new reality shows on why couldn't they have an RV reality show. Now that would be a reality! Show what it really is like to be out on the road full time. How to handle different problems that might come your way. You know the stories would be funnier than some of the sitcoms they have out now. I like Howards Movie parking lot practice site. Now that was funny!
Havent caught it yet but will sure watch for it. Thanks for the tip! Now a reality show that would just be the "cats meow" would love it!! soiuthwestjudy & Bob & 2blackdogs...all full timing it!!
I saw both segments and was interested in all the very nice rv's they showed. Also caught the RV show on the Outdoor channel too, which comes to one too little to know when to watch for it. We should be able to have so very good RV shows with as many RV'ers that are out there. Hope the HGTV one lasts and stays consistant with scheduling. I do love the RV shows on TV
The new show features a lot of high end coaches that I could never afford. They need to show some mid-range fulltimer rigs and some common folks fulltiming. That would be a show not to miss................. Doncat

Each 30min episode features 3 different RVing families and rigs. Some are high dollar some are lower dollar. In every case it is very hard to follow the images as they show interiors of numerous other rigs not actually featured on the show. Seems they use a lot of stock footage of RV interiors interwoven in with the 3 featured rigs.
I wasn't as impressed with this show as I'd hoped. I want to see specific features of the rigs, RV-specific products, detailed evaluations of campgrounds, tech tips, etc. Frankly, I'm not interested in what kids think about watching a shuttle launch. I do hope they get a little more focused on the real RV side of things, because I do love to watch informative RV shows!
Again. I watched last night. Again, not impressed. How many times do we need to be told about the flat screen TV's, outside grills, etc. I want a show that gives real information on the RV life.
Evidently, RV Road Home is not a new series, just a 4-episode special. The 1st 2 shows ran last week & the last 2 shows were on last night. I think they are going to repeat 2 episodes next weekend.
We saw a couple of the shows, and like several of you, we weren't impressed. We are in the process of researching fifth wheels and motorhomes for our eventual retirement/full time lifestyle in a couple of years. I would really rather see the show geared more toward all the things that are important in regards to picking out an RV....information about full time Rviing/camping in general, and maybe different campgrounds....I think it would be more interesting.... Now it's kind of like "lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" showing off $500,000.00 show pieces... just my $.02 worth.....
The RV Road Home show is certainly a ho-hum when it comes to useful RVing content. It seems to be all eye-candy and no real substance. A TV show with real value and staying power would be titled RV DREAMS and be hosted by our very own H&L. It would be a lot like rv-dreams.com. Now, that would be useful TV show about RV life and living! Maybe we should set up a mass mailing to some producers?
I think an RV Reality show would be great! They have reality TV shows about some really dumb stuff.....an RV show would be GREAT! I remember seeing an episode of Wife Swap or something like that where one of the families was a fulltime, roadschooling famliy and that was interesting but I would love to see a show that followed a family or a couple different families and showed the real ups and downs of life on the road.
You mean there are down sides to this Fulltiming thing. Come on now you'll haven't been telling me the whole story!!!
And Howard you should be ashamed all this time leading us on and not saying a word about this H & L thing............... or should I say L & H. You've been writing like you were running the show and now we know!!! Thanks RV Dude for setting the record straight!!!! Now we see who really is in charge!!

We watchded the show and found it interesting although pretty much out of touch with reality on the road.
I was particularly disappointed that HGTV was so careless to air video of Danica Patrick's Dad driving her motor home without a seat belt. Driving without a safety belt is illegal in most states. This lack of attention to detail to get the story any way possible is just plain irresponsible.

Thanks for the link for the RVRoadStew show. I think it is just what we're all looking for! The pics posted under Road Gallery shows them all having a great time. Wish it were an hour show. 30 minutes goes by quick with all the commercials, but sure better than no show! I always enjoyed Tracy's Tips on RV Today. But, if the H & L show were a reality, I think Stew (and Tracy!) would be in for some stiff competition!
