Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.
We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!
Now that you have been "on the road" for a while and the RV-Dreams web site has grown, about how much time per day do you spend maintianing the web site and writting the daily journal entries? From your journal I haven't seen it being a daily necessity but you do mention computer time quite a bit. I'm just curious. An estimate will do fine.

I spend a couple hours each morning writing the Journal entry. The more photos I put in, the longer it takes. The same goes for links.
Then we spend a good hour a day returning emails and reviewing the Forum for questions we feel a need to chime in on or sending Birthday wishes.
Beyond that, it just depends. It depends on how long we have been in one place, how the weather is, and how long it has been since I have done anything. When I get bored with an area or the weather is lousy, I might spend several hours a day doing updates and tweaks and adding content.
We definitely spend three hours a day. But it is really hard to put a number on it beyond that. It's a part-time job but, except for the daily journal, it's time spent whenever we feel like it.
The websites are an interesting combination. Some parts we enjoy more than others. Some parts we do to archive our own experiences - we might not have the discipline to do that if not for our readers. Some parts are just improvements that are necessary to enhance the income potential.
So, no matter how much time we spend, it is a labor of love because we know we are helping change peoples' lives AND our readers are so very special. But we never hide the fact that there is an ulterior cash motive to hopefully keep us from having to get "real" jobs. As long as those two things are compatible, we'll continue to spend the time.
Thanks for the esitmate. I knew from the time I spend on my own journal thay yours had to be a significant time consumer in your day. It isn't really like work though. It truly is something to be loved or hated. In our case, loved.
Have a Great Day!
