Connie and I have decided to become fulltimers after doing considerable research, attending the Spring Rally, and meeting a bunch of folks living the lifestyle. The last thing on our list is to actually rent an RV and do a one month test to make sure it's for us.
We looked at Cruise America RV rental and weren't much impressed by their selection and features. A little more research turned up Elmonte RV rentals which has a couple of locations here in Virginia.
Has any one used Elmonte . . .or have another recommended dealer to rent from in Virginia? They all look good on the web site . . .but then one never knows how the customer experience, quality of rig (granted, it's a rental so you can't expect too much), etc . . .so it's always a good idea to ask your friends for a recommendation.
We're looking at a 30ish foot rental to best simulate what we'll actually purchase (mid 30's 5ver) . . .either a Class A or one of the larger Class C would be fine. We don't have the tow vehicle yet so obviously renting a 5ver is out of the question.
Suggestions/recommendations anyone?

One thing to keep in mind, most rental companies will NOT allow you to tow a TOAD! Also most rental compainies have a lot of add ons such as plates, silverware, pots & pans - sheets, pillows blankets etc etc. You can bring your own but how practical that is ????? Not a cheap month for sure!

Thanks . . .we're picking up locally in the Northern VA area and knew about the add on charges; so will just load up here at the house before we head out. We hadn't considered a TOAD for the month since we don't have the setup for it . . .but will drive the car separately.
Yeah . . .expensive month for sure . . .but cheaper than buying the rig and then Connie figuring out she can't live in that small of a space. Me . . .I drove submarines for 20 years and the RV is way bigger than my stateroom was so I'm set with the size. This month will just be our final test before we start paring down possessions and what we want to keep while getting our rig picked out/built.
