My wife and I have been enjoying this website for quite some time and we both have the F/T RVing bug. We both have professional jobs which are very stressful for both of us and we would like to start the RVing life as soon as we are able to. I'm 41 and my wife is 35 so we are rather young to be thinking about retiring.
Our plan is to put our house on the market soon (once we get it ready for showing) and have strongly looked purchasing a Grand Junction 39’ 5th wheel. Our goal is to (once we sell the house) buy the 5th wheel outright and live in it at a camp ground for the next 5-6 years while we save our money and become debt free. Then we’ll trade in our cars for a Ford F450 (or comparable) and head off to the great United States. But since we cannot retire we’re going to have to work camp so I’ve been reading a lot on that to help pay bills.
We really didn’t consider this until I starting looking at this website where Howard and Linda are making their dream happen at our age and we think we can do it also.
Just wanted to introduce myself and please if you have any advice for us we would love to hear it.
Mark

Mark and Jenna, Welcome to a great group! We have been fulltime since last October so my advice will be brief. Stay close to your dream! We love this life! We are in our 50's and intend to enjoy as much as we can for as long as we can.

Welcome Mark and Jenna, Wife and I sold the house in 2009 and moved into our Montana at a KOA about 20 miles from our former house. We are still working in our careers and are working hard to get the bills paid so we can launch. (sound familier yet? )
Living in the 5th wheel has been great, even in the winter. We would love to be able to travel some but are content to stay put for a couple of more years and then we'll do our early retirement and hit the road.
DW's job is a little shakey right now and they are facing some downsizing so we may be free a little earlier than planned, if she stays working then our original plan was for me to pull the plug in late 2014 and her in early 2015 so she can get some additional benefits.
Good luck with your plans.

Mark & Jenna - we too have the BUG - we have our house on the market now and although things are slow in this economy, we have high hopes and we are committed to our RV-ing DREAM - it will happen , it's just a question of when.

Welcome Mark & Jenna.
We too, are just begining our journey. We had set a tentative plan to start our new life in 2014. But, after several fulltime families recommend us talk to Stephanie Mulac, (and we DID!), we have moved our start date to June 2012.
If you have to earn a living while traveling, Stephanie will definitely help you see the possibilities. You may want to contact her. She talked to us for 3hrs via phone (on her dime) the other night; and NOW, we feel so much better about our new journey.
Just google her name and contact her.

Welcome to the family Mark and Jenna! We're in the transition stage as well. I'm not ready to retire yet and Johnny's semi-retired. Finances will require that we continue to work while we full-time, but hoping to find a way to make all the pieces fit by the end of the summer.
