This one was hard to decide. I have a link to my blog, where you'll find the story that is referred to in the subject line. Since it is regarding my blog, I first thought it ought to go in the blog section of the forums. But then, it also deals with what we should do in the way of planning for our future(?), so maybe it should go in "Researching RV Living" or even the "Made the Decision to Full Time" threads.
So, with indecision, I played it safe and chose "Community Chat."
Now, some of you may find it disgusting, some may find it funny, and some may just find it weird, but hey, this is me we are dealing with.
Well, at least they are having fun for their last couple of months! Just in case they are right I am eating ice cream tonight and postponing any new diets until after May. Heidi

I just finished watching a show on the History channel called "After Armageddon" that shows what might happen after a global pandemic.

Can't think of any other place I'd rather be if the world ends . . . in our camper, by the river, relaxed and so happy. There's something to be said about living your dream instead of waiting and waiting and waiting . . . Yep - all is well!

There were 6 OF their Campers going down the street in York Pa last friday .. I have to say they need to learn how to drive a little better or they may not last until May...people in that part of town don't take kindly to have the streets blocked because you don't know how to drive a one way street.

Great! I had made plans to be working for the rest of my life, because this comes up, guess I have to change my plans again. Wow! No more bills to pay, food to buy, wondering where or if I will locate another workamper job. sure releived a lot of concern. On second thought maybe i better go back to that working for the rest of my life. I am not getting out of this world that easy!!! Pieere

Now dangit, the world isn't supposed to end until 12/21/12. If it ends in May I will miss out on the Star Trek movie set for Summer 2012. No fair!
Jokes aside, I watched "After Armageddon" too and it scared me silly. But you can't spend your life living in fear or waiting for the end. What's the point in that?

It's looking like he might be right with the 8.9 earthquake in Japan and Sunami's headed our way. Maybe this is the start of the Earth splitting open on the 21st.

I've deleted a few posts on this thread for going beyond our "politics and religion" boundaries. Please, let's not go down those roads here on this Forum. It's not the place. Thank you.

I thought the link interesting. It seems a cult type thing? It is always interesting to find such medieval fear and a certain illogical dependance on obscure codes and dates coming after every earthly catastrophe. It's almost a scenario where some utterly obvious threat, hurricane, tornado, molten lava, Chernobyl, Japan, happens and they yell, "quick, honey, get a date and code for this one!" Long ago my dad told me about the radio's War of the Worlds and the hysteria and panic Orson Welles caused with that show. Now we'd probably roll on the floor laughing because reality is more scary than the stuff on TV and movies. Helpless in some of the events of the natural world, we can only pray, help others when and where we can, and live in God because God is love, try to be what St. Francis called an "instrument of peace," and as Jesus said, "fear not." It is a scary time. Sometimes I think that's what RVing is all about, searching for peace, love of the earth and its creatures. So I'm rolling on to something beautiful and peaceful at the river, and journal a lot. Peace, everyone.
So, with indecision, I played it safe and chose "Community Chat."
