Do any of you have prescriptions that you have to refill monthly in order to get your insurance to pay for them? Blood Pressure meds or cholesterol or???????????
If so, how do you do it when one month you are in Tennessee and the next in Texas?
Does Walgreens or Walmart or any other pharmacy have a nation wide data base that will fill a prescription at one store which was originally filed at a different one?
David takes a medication for borderline cholesterol (a family genetic situation) and we know we could fill a year's worth before we leave for Tennessee and then have the prescription reissued wherever we are a year later. But that would cost a fortune since our insurance company will only pay for it once a month.
Thanks in advance for any experience or advice you have to offer.

Both Walmart and Walgreens does and you can switch back and forth, it's almost seamless. Just take the bottle in and they phone and have the prescription switched.

We use Walgreens and once they put your prescription in their computer, you can go to any Walgreens and they can bring it right up and give you your refil, no matter what store you go to or what state you're in.
We've been very happy with them and have been able to find a store almost anywhere we've traveled in the U.S.

We use Walgreens and it works flawlessly.I've heard Wal-Mart works well also.

Any nationwide chain will be able to provide that service. I prefer WalMart only because if we are moving, I can get the rig into the parking lot.
The thing that came to mind, tho, was why you can't get a 90 days supply by working with your insurance and doctor. They are pretty common meds.

THanks a lot for the thought which I'd also had but declined.
Doctor is great to work with. Insurance company not so much. They are a PIA and it takes WAY too much time on the phone to get them to do anything. Repeated calls and........well you know the scenario I'm sure.
Since I have no idea when or if we will ever be back here to this doctor it doesn't seem to matter whether we have to stop off once a month or once every 3 months to pick them up. We'll for sure be in a Walmart somewhere at least once a month.
There is way too much to do as it is. Don't need to create something else. I'm into E-Z at that stage.

I have 3 prescritions filled at Costco every month. I have the same requirements from my insurance company. We order our prescripion on their Website and specify the store for pickup within the first few days of the month.
