I really enjoy reading about all the camping adventures. I was wondering if anyone could help us find a campground for our pop-up near Zion. We will be going there this summer and will need electrical, showers and maybe a pool.
We have spent time at Bryce and Grand Canyon but just past through Zion, so we would like to spend some time there. Any information about campgrounds or thing to do would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark and Becky

Hi Mark & Becky,
If you go to Google Maps and type in "campground near Zion National Park, UT" , that will show you what is available in the area.
Have a great time at this wonderful park,

You might try the Watchman campground inside the park itself. It has electricity and showers.

I agree about checking out the Watchman campground we were in the park in December and drove by this campground. It looks like it would be great for a pop up. You will love the park, it is an amazing place.

We tent-camped there a few years ago, and it was very nice.

Thanks for all the information, it is really helpful to talk to people that have been there. We Googled Watchman campground, it said it had electricity but did not mention showers. It said showers were available in Springdale. Bill is Springdale the showers you are talking about? Either way Springdale looks close and Watchman looks like a good place to stay.
Thanks,
Mark

We spent a few days at the Watchman campground last September. There is electricity at each site but not water. We did not see any showers in the bathrooms. There is water available to carry back to your site. There is free shuttle service into town from the park. I hope you like hiking and are not afraid of hieghts. I recommend hiking the narrows, it was a blast. Enjoy your stay. James

I guess Watchman doesn't have showers. We stayed at South Campground, which is next to Watchman but dry camping, and we used our own facilities so I did not realize there were no showers. Springdale is the city at the West entrance.

We stayed at the Zion Canyon Campground in Springdale, UT. The campground shares the pool with the Quality Inn, and it has showers and hook-ups. Some of the sights are tight but there are some nice sights right on the river. There is a shuttle into the park right in front of the campground. We had a great stay there and can't wait to go back and do some more hiking in Zion.

This blog has beautiful pictures and info about Zion. He's been workamping there for more than one season. Do your best to avoid the hottest months...when it is hot, the park has no respite. Be safe and have fun! - Lori

Thanks for the link Lori, I have been going through it for several hours, he has some really good pictures. I'm still not sure where we will be staying at Zion. I would like to stay in the park but with no showers I don't think that will work. I need to see it there is a place to take showers outside of the park that is cheaper than $5.00, (that's what I am reading on some of the reviews). There is five of us so that would be $25 a day just for showers.
Thanks,
Mark
