Hey gang, I'm a newly 40 guy out in sunny SoCal, and I'm doing the research to start out on the road full-time. I build pre-1970 Harleys and do art as well as photography and various other things that can pretty much be done anywhere. Over the last year, I've realized that the amount I spend traveling to all the shows to sell my goods and do the rides I want to do leaves me paying a ton in travel and only being in my own bed for about a third of the year. This makes the plunge into full-timing seem easy for me.
So far, I'm looking into a rig that includes a TH as my living unit (5th wheel most likely) and a F450 as my puller. I'm leaning toward the new Dutchmen Voltage series 3905 or 50, but I know a lot of people seem to hate Thor products. Being a build-conscious person, I've looked hard to find issues, but other than the "first year" recall stuff, can't find an issue with overall quality and structural integrity so far.
Anyway, I'll start posting in the right threads and stick my foot into new ones when I can't find what I'm looking for!
Thanks and look forward to chatting around here.

Take it for what it's worth, But I've owned 3 different Thor products. Dutchman pop up, Four Winds TT and most recent a Monte Vista 5th wheel. Structure problems on every one. Just traded on a 2010 Heartland Landmark 5th wheel. You can see the better qualiy workmanship. But hey good luck!

Welcome to the forum! I am also a photographer - strictly amateur (very amateur). We own a 2005 Cedar Creek 5er that we love.
Hope you're having better weather in SoCal than we are in the Southeast!

Unfortunately, Heartland was acquired by Thor as well.

Craze,
We have an EVERGREEN TT but they build a 5 er.
Very light wt and pulls like a dream, F 250 gas with an EQUALIZER brand hitch.
NO WOOD IN THE CONSTRUCTION and all composit floor, walls, roof and ceiling.
That is what sold me.
See our owners group for more opinions and experiences.
