Hello, It feels good to join up and in, Sherri and I have been lurking for several months. In May I suggested to Sherri that we sell everything and rent residences to the north in the summer and to the south in the winter. Sherri did not say no flat out but she suggested that she still wanted some kind of home she could call her own. We found RV Dreams and discovered a whole way of living which we never knew about, you see we have never been camping in our 27 years of marriage. After reading about Howard & Linda's experiences we decided that we too could go full-timing. After much research and reading many of your posts, we bought a 5th wheel in August, a Ford F350 in October, put the house up for sale in October and sold it 12/22/10. We are set to close 01/13/11. We will stay with Sherri's mom until we hit the road April 1 and head to the RV Dreams rally, which we are signed up for. Sherri is leaving her position as Controller for two restaurants in Albuquerque and I am a retired UPSer. I have been working for the same restaurants as the Marketing Director for two years. Work does not know we are leaving and it will be hard to leave a small company as well as family and friends in ABQ. Our daughter is 19 and is moving into her own apartment, so that part is also hard. We are so looking forward to meeting many of you in April. We have much to learn and we can't think of a better place to learn than at the rally. Many of you have inspired us to make this leap of faith. Thank you,

Welcome, and congrats on the sale of your house. We also have sold our house and are set to close Thursday, but due to Kev's work, we are not ready to hit the road, so will have to go into an apartment till he can retire. It is such a relief to have that part done, isn't it? Hope to see you down the road!

Well it happened!! We closed on our house Thursday 1/13. It was a bittersweet day, while we accomplished our goal of selling the house and selling almost all of our stuff it was sad to move out of our home and part with art and furniture which we had bought over the past 27 years. The three weeks leading up to Thursday were absolutely crazy busy. We had two estate sales, sorted through our stuff to take to the 5th wheel or the dump, or Goodwill, or to mother-in-laws or storage. Plus we had to do all the necessary things for the sale and we both are working full-time. But we did it; now we have to start stocking up the 5th wheel for full-time living. It does feel good to have the house sold, in this market no one is quite sure how soon or if a house will sell.
We hope to see many of you soon at the Rally.

Color us green with envy! We're a long ways from getting to where you are - still in the sorting out and getting rid of stuff phase. We just pulled 15 boxes of old business and personal records down from the attic to sort out and shred or toss. It seems like an insurmountable task but I know we can do it with encouraging reports from folks like you guys.
We'll be at the rally too and will look forward to meeting you all.

Ron & Joan,
There is nothing like a buyer saying I want to close in 3 1/2 weeks to get one motivated. We will look forward to meeting you in April.
