Hello All from sunny Baghdad, Iraq. Just want to introduce myself to this fine group of RV enthusiasts. I am currently working in Baghdad, Iraq as a security contractor and hope to return home to the good 'ol USA in Feb to pick up my 1976 Bluebird Wanderlodge. I am going to drive her from NE Missouri back to home in San Antonio, TX, spend about 2 weeks with the family learning the new system and then return to Iraq for another 2 months. Then I am through with this stupidity and am going to return home in May. I am a retired US Army NCO (MP Corps - 20 years) with interestes in Amateur Radio and flyfishing..and a good cigar now and then. Just wanted to say "Hello" to all and wish you blessed travels. Let me be the first to welcome you to the forum. And to thank you for your service. Hopefully, you will find your RV in good shape when you return and the snow won't get in your way as you return to San Antonio. I just left there last week, and the weather was fine. Mid to upper 70's and it is much the same there now. Keep up the good work Padre, spread the word.

Welcome. None were in Iraq, but I spent several tours in sand box countries. Makes you appreciate grass, doesn't it?
It's unfortunate that Montauk State Park in the SE section of MO closes October 31st, or you would be able to so some great trout fly fishing when you go back to pick up the rig.
Safe travels.

Padre,
Welcome, and thanks also for your previous and current service.
I should add that perhaps you shouldn't get in too big of a hurry to get back to the states. It has been somewhat "unseasonally" cool in places.
We look forward to any questions or comments that you have. All new perspectives are greatly appreciated.
