Steve (hubby) is taking early retirement due to his health problems. His last day will be Nov. 24th. Can't wait. We are looking at a 99 Georgia Boy and plan on heading toward Texas after Christmas. We are looking at spending the winter near or in the Gulf coast area. Looking for suggestions for a family orientated area as we have an 11 year old son.
We are so new to this lifestyle that we have frost on the back of our ears. LOL Is there any area that couples with children seem to favor over others.

How exciting! No help here for kid friendly rv parks, but do stop by Austin and say hi!

I was under the impression that lots of families travel with children. Am I wrong?

Yes, there are lots of families traveling with kids. Having kids at most rv parks is not a problem. When I read your initial message my brain went to south texas snowbird sorts of parks where most campers are going to be a little older.
Maybe a different way to ask is to identify things that are important to you in an rv park. Based on that we could probably give you some ideas.

I completely lost my last post, no idea where it went. LOL
Any way, I will have to sit down with hubby and son and find out what they feel is most important. I do know that warm climate is #1.

Be carefull in Florida...my daughter and husband and 2 kids are going to be in Florida for the winter months and she had to call several RV parks that would allow children more than 2 weeks at a time.

Google: Hill Shade RV Park in Gonzales, Texas. It is run by a kid friendly family and is on I-10 going toward San Antonio. $300 a month. The Phone # is 830-437-2428. There is also a couple of reviews.

Thanks Pieere, it looks like a great place for a kid and for the old folks (me and Steve). Does the $300 cover hookups? I didn't see anything on their site about hookups.

You might also check out Oak Forest RV Park in Austin.

It looks like a pretty nice park with some nice amenities. You're close to the Texas Hill Country and can make day trips to San Antonio. We LOVE Austin. Great food. Lots of free activities, festivals etc. Very eclectic city.

If you guys are interested on the Gulf Coast around Corpus Christi or Port Aransas, I'll ask around about kid friendly places. Corpus Christi is our hometown.

We are going to start with the gulf coast and if it gets cold we will move further south.
