We are looking at extensive deconstruction in the bedroom to address any internal water damage.
The basement dampness/mold issue may be related to the known leak or may be resulting from something else leaking. The basement wall will have to be taken off to see what's up behind it.
I'll be talking with our service tech and Keystone again on Monday.
Thank you again, everyone, for your support, suggestions and encouragement. It helps soften the blow of such frustrating and disheartening news.
I do appreciate your posts.
In gratitude,
Betty

Sorry to hear all the problems with your rig. For the price paid for some of these things, one would think that they would do a better job of putting them together.
This story is making me seriously think about striking the Keystone brand from my list.
I hope that they resolve the problems to your satisfaction or provide you with a new rig. Keystone needs to make this right.

They should replace your rig completely! My daughter had a Keystone TT and it leaked too around a window.
We had a TT many years ago (Prowler) bought it brand new....first trip out when it rained....it was pouring in.....turned out the roof caulking had a hole.....husband fixed it.
Seriously Betty, I'd be insisiting on a brand new unit....especially if the water was coming in from all over.
Don't be too nice at this point....polite, but VERY firm!!! You have some pain and suffering as well!!

I have to wonder if it's not getting to be time to start pressing Keystone to write off the current unit and replace it.

Wow......so sorry to hear about all of the issues you have been having with your rig. I know when we had some problems, we took the rig up to Indiana and had Sunnybrook look it over. They took care of everything......thankfully. Just an idea.....Take the rig up to Elkhart and have Keystone do the diagnosising. Good Luck....and Safe Travels

Oh WOW!! So sorry for all you are going through with your Keystone Montana. Having only had 3 months.....I'd say they (Keystone) should give you a new one...which has been throroughly gone through and inspected. We have a Keystone Cougar and have yet to really take her "on the road"......can only make short trips to local state parks in Washington for now. Everytime we even plan to go further....husband's tells me how much the diesel fuel will cost us and that trip falls through. At this point I wonder if we will ever get out there...REALLY! Good luck with resolving your problem.......Keep us posted! ~Tricia

Tell that hubby of yours that the entire purpose is to USE the rig, not let it sit. We have a diesel now too ( remember when diesel used to be about 10 cents or more cheaper than regular fuel?) and I cringed when we first went out on the road, but in all honesty, I just consider it one of the costs of this lifestyle, just like a boat owner pays for gas to enjoy their boat. W'hy have an RV if you don't use it for the purpose you purchased it for? And as gas taxes are bound to go up, as I just read, the price is not going lower.
There is SO much to see out there and an RV is a perfect way to see it. Tell hubby to grin and bear it and venture out further so you can enjoy your rv.

Betty: I agree with the majority here that have written to say that Keystone should simply give you a new rig that has been carefully checked over. How sad that you are dealing with all of these issues. Whatever happened to good craftsmanship? We pay a fortune for cars, rvs, boats, etc. and the craftsmanship seems to be going downhill while the prices escalate skywards.
Keeping positive thoughts coming your way that all will work out wonderfully in the end and you will overcome these issues soon.
Long story short, the two known major issues:
We are looking at extensive deconstruction in the bedroom to address any internal water damage.
The basement dampness/mold issue may be related to the known leak or may be resulting from something else leaking. The basement wall will have to be taken off to see what's up behind it.
You can read my blog post about all this.
It's been a long day.
