I am going to need tires for the TT, we tore up one on our week end trip. Now get out the popcorn and cokes this is going to get good I hope.
I stopped by NTB for a quote on tires. They quoted me the TowmaxSTR205 75 R14 born on 0910. I know nothing about these, has anyone used these tires? Made in Japan.
I was quoted the same size tire at Goodyear, a set of Goodyear Marathons, born on 3009, made in USA.
Also quoted Carlise's at Discount Tire same size born 1010 made who knows where, we could not find the location on the tire.
All were about the same price mounted and balanced.
Please let me hear what you think about each good or bad.

I'm not going to be a lot of help, but I'll still put in my two cents worth. I've never even heard of Towmax. I've heard of Carlisle, but know nothing about them. While the Mobile Suites that we have has Goodyear tires on them, I'm not sure whether they are Marathons or not.
On DRV forums (Mobile Suites), they tell of Goodyear being pretty good about replacing tires if necessary, however, if you have a blowout, be sure and save the destroyed tire because Goodyear will want it back. Yeah, it's a bummer to haul around a blown out tire, but probably worth it in the long run.
Also, from what I've read on forums, avoid anything made in China. So, if the Carlisle isn't listed as to its place of manufacture, I believe I would avoid that one.

Dan,the Carlisles are made in China,avoid them like the plague. Those of us with Forest River Products call them"China Bombs".Mine are Ironman Electra's sold by Carlisle.From my communication with other Cedar Creek owners I'm one of the lucky ones that have not had trouble yet.As soon as the budget can handle it I will be changing mine.Meanwhile I monitor them closely.Dollar for Dollar you can't go wrong with Goodyears.

The Goodyears have a good rep and the Chinese tires do not, although many of us have had a good experience with them.
At the same price it's a no brainer.

Just tossing my cents in, the original tires on our Montana are Goodyears made in China. Not all Goodyears are made equal? We have not had a problem with them but don't have that many miles on the rig yet, either.
If it were me, I would avoid like the plague Mission tires. Was parked next to a fifth wheel in Arkansas that had two blowouts of those during a two-week vacation. They were not happy campers. Another rig, a Montana, in that park had Missions as original tires and they had experienced blowouts also.
Again, not much help regarding Towmax, but just tires in general.

For our 2 cents... Invest in a good set of tire covers when you get your new tires. We had to replace all 6 of ours before our trip this summer. Not that many miles or that long but UV rays just killed the sidewalls!
