I want to buy a wireless weather station for the enjoyment of learning more about the weather and because weather plays an integral part in the enjoyment of RVing. I don't know much about weather, except I don't want to be in the north in the winter or in the south in the summer, but I do think it would be fun to learn more about it. So my question is - does anyone have a wireless weather station? I can't spend a lot of money and I have seen some for less than $150 some with good reviews others with not so good reviews. Any recommendations?

I use the Oregon Scientific WMR-100 station. It is available in your price range. It has served me well since we began full-timing. It is easy to transport and setup making it ideal for RV use. All sensors communicate to the console wirelessly. It has an USB port that allows you to hook it up to your computer.
I've been running a weather station of some sort and publishing my weather data to my website as well as sharing with the National Weather Service since 1999. The WMR-100 is not what I would call a professional weather station. Maybe when compared to other $150 stations it might be considered one of the best in that price range. There are many other stations out there that put the WMR-100 to shame. But then they are considerably more expensive than $150.
If you want to get a station that will record wind, rain, barometer, temperature and humidity, then the WMR-100 will work for you. Just remember that it's only $150 and don't expect it to last more than a couple of years. It should last long enough so you can see if you like the hobby.
Feel free to email me directly if you want to know more or if you have questions.

If you follow Dan's link to the WMR-100, read the reviews. It really looks like an excellent buy for that kind of money. Now that I've read the reviews, and product description, I want one!! I have a Weather Channel Indoor/Outdoor thermometer/barometer/atomic clock that does all I need for my sticks and bricks house, but I would love to have the one Dan has.
I even saved it to my Amazon.com wish list, to go back and look at it again when I've got a little spare cash :)
