Anyone know anything about trip permits. If I buy a used motorhome in Ohio I need to get it to Illinois. Thanks

Get the vehicle insured, then you can register it, bring your plates with you, and off you go. If the purchase is through a dealer, dealer plates can be an option, Gene,

Every Truck and RV we have bought we were provided drive out plates. We just done the Insurance on line and had them fax us a copy of proof of Inc. I always had a set of plates which were taken off the other Truck or RV. Unless you pay cash you will be required to purchase Insurance before the dealer will let you go. GBY....

I think, as long as you have insurance, you just need a bill of sale to drive it back to IL. I believe you have something like 10 days to register it. If you buy from an individual you won't be getting temporary plates, but if you go through a dealer it's a whole different ball game.
Thanks
