Hello RVers. I just found this site tonight. My wife and I retired and moved from Memphis, TN to Pickwick Lake, TN three years ago and we really love the lake lifestyle. We owned a 26 ft. Sunnybrook travel trailer for several years. We sold it with the intention of buying a 5th wheel. Then the move to the lake came up and we held off. Now we own a pontoon boat and a fishing boat rather than a fiver.
A couple of years after I sold the trailer, I got the itch and bought a 10 ft Coleman popup. We don't camp much. Mostly, I think because I just get tired of messing with setting up the popup. It has AC, furnace, fridge, etc. so its pretty comfortable. Just troublesome.
The other day, my wife said she really misses the trailer. It was like her little playhouse. We probably have six or seven strings of decorative lights and all kinds of whirly-gig things. So, that got me thinking about looking around for another trailer. After suffering big-time sticker shock on the prices for a new 18 ft. super-lite of various brands, I'm now looking at good used ones. Apparently, a lot of people have downsized several times so that the little trailers are selling at a premium, actually more than the Sunnybrook cost new.
I belonged to several RV clubs including The RV Club, Good Sam, Escapees, Sunny Travelers, and others that I can't recall. The RV Club was an online forum that was really informative and a pleasure to communicate with people. I learned a lot from some really experienced RVers. A fellow named Howard owned the club. Can't recall the last name and can't find the club online. I keep being redirected to the Good Sam Club.
So, hello to all RV-Dreamers. I hope to keep involved.
