Okay - so what is up with us????   Yesterday had accident with fiver.  I am really starting to believe this is  never going to be our lifestyle.

First one thing and then another!   We had decided to take off after tending to Lens mom for most of the last 3 plus months.   And now we are "homeless" while fiver is in shop.   Currently just north of Oklahoma City headed to SD to get drivers licenses, minus our home.

I sent you a comment on your blog. Don't blame yourself for this. It is an accident and they do happen to all of us. Hang in there and don't give up. We will say a prayer that all things work out with the insurance as well as your repairman. Take care and travel safely to and from S. Dakota!!

I am so sorry to hear of your travel troubles.  BUT, I think you should just think of it as getting all the bad stuff out of the way at the beginning of your new life!

Life is filled with speed bumps to slow us up. I think you'll be fine and on the road in short order. Accidents happen. The key is to take the lesson dealt and learn from it. Don't give up the dream.

Thanks for sharing...we can all learn something from others boo-boo's...here's my story: We were on our maiden voyage taking our brand new coach from California to Virginia. We were relocating my folks and I had their car on a tow dolly. We were low on diesel somewhere in Texas. I decided to get off at the next exit that had a fuel sign that said diesel. Turned out to be a Texaco station in a small town. As we approached the station it was a twin island setup parallel with the road, had an overhang over the pumps, and the only diesel pump was on the island closest to the road. I carefully planned my approach to the pump while paying attention to the overhang. Since I can fuel my coach from either side I decided to pull in with the pumps on the drivers side so the overhang really didn't come into play. Seemed like a good plan, so I start the turn from the road into the station. As soon as I did, a pickup truck pulled up to the pump and blocked me out. Now committed I had to continue my approach modified to use the passenger side to fuel. Now the roof became my prime concern and I was 95% certain we would fit. The overhang was marked as being 13'6" but due to the slope of the ground I wasn't sure which end of the roof they measured. The coach and toad are out of the road and I am moving very slowly. I begin to make the turn to the pump, still watching the overhang, when all of a sudden it felt like someone dropped the anchor. I immediately got out and checked the overhang, but we were no where near the roof yet. Strange I thought. Maybe it's just the front wheel hit a speed bump or something and I just needed more momentum to get over it, but no, no speed bump. So I decide to do a walk around to make sure everything is ok before proceeding. As I round the back of the coach I see the problem. When I turned the coach wheels to the right, the rear of the coach swung left, and I had hooked a cement pole with the dolly. The cement pole must have missed the rear of the coach by inches, and it also missed the toad by inches. The pole was wedged between the dolly wheel and the toad. Luckily we were not blocking the road and I was able to dismount the toad and unhook the dolly and move the coach to the other side of the gas station. Damage to the dolly was minimal, just some bent metal on the wheel cover and the pad that holds the front wheel of the toad. Basically the cement pole was wider than the opening and it just wedged it's way past the metal. Learned a valuable lesson...never fuel up at normal gas stations...they are just too small to handle big rigs.

I had just purchased our new 2003 Adventurer in November 2002 and had one quick shake down cruise in it. During the first trip we found in the shower, the plate that goes between the wall and the handle was missing, leaving an opening into the wall. The dealer ordered the part and I had to drop the MH off the night before the appointment. It was dark and I turned onto the dealer's road and was broadsided by a car on the right side of the MH, the car spun around and hit me a second time just behind the rear wheel. The driver of the car had just left a gas station and didn't turn on her headlights by mistake so I never saw her coming. She was okay, her car was totaled and my brand new MH had over $20K worth of damage! It was hard to believe I had this accident with my 2003 MH before 2003 even started, but the MH was repaired and we were able to enjoy it for several years after that before trading up to our DP. This to shall pass, things happen and its a terrible feeling to see what has happened but things will be better. This has happened to many RVer's and some have been RVing for many years. Thanks to everyone who replied here and also those on my blog. We are in Mitchell, SD. Will get out drivers licenses tomorrow then head back to TX. I talked to insurance company today and got claim #. Waiting for call from the adjustor. The manager at the shop said he could seal the unit and we could live in it until the part comes from Indiana. (About two weeks). So, we will probably do just that. Insurance pays $1,500 living expenses. Not enough for 3 weeks in a motel and meals. We should be back in TX by Thursday night. Hopefully we can get in rig before weekend and have at least one week in it before moving to motel. Tough living out of truck. When it happened we only had a short time to get stuff from rig as it was by then 3 on Sat and shop was closing. It was not until Sunday when I went to get dressed did I realize I packed NO UNDERWEAR for myself. Thank goodness for a WalMart any where you go! Phyllis

Can you believe this???? We just called the repair shop. We were told the service technician we met on Saturday is leaving the company (not his choice nor theirs but a personal situation). They have no one else who can do this job. SO....... now we are looking for another repair shop. We've called one. No luck, can't do it. We've called another, they are not Keystone but have done work on Montanas. We are waiting to hear back from Keystone. In the meantime, the clock is ticking and we don't have a home.

Oh no!!!! I sooo feel your pain and frustration!  When it rains, it really pours!!!!!

Hey all- we got back to NJ around noon yesterday. The seal worked really well and we don't look bad at all. We take it to Lakewood, NJ (about 75 miles from here) to our Montana dealer on Monday. They will keep it for a few days and analyze what needs to be done and order the parts made. We will pick it up, live in it until they can do the fix. We finally feel things are calming down. Whew - what a hectic week we've had. We are "camping" in my daughters side yard. Actually it's our side yard. She has her condo leased and is trying to sell it to then settle on our house. It's nice here. Great view. We have 2+ acres completely surrounded by a nursery. What a great time of year to live amoung the flowering trees and flowers. Works otr well - we live in fiver, daughte rand hubby in the house. Full hook ups. When fiver is in shop, we will stay on the house. Hopefully not in shop too many days. I sure love my daughter but I sure don't want to live with her more than a few days!!!!

Glad you made it safe and sound...hope the dealer is able to expedite the repairs.
