don't forget crazy horse when at Mt Rushmore. Also look into North Dakota badlands and Teddy Roosevelt national park. At the end of may the weather will be great
for touring the area.

Y'all talk like a southerner. I can relate to that. Welcome to the forum. When you are in the Black Hills don't miss seeing Custer State Park. It is the best part IMHO

and if you want to visit the tallest peak east of the Rockies you will need to go to the top of Harney peak at over 7,000 feet found in the black hills...

Welcome from Idaho. We traveled through Kentucky a couple weeks ago. I have a friend in Louisville that I served with in the service. Never did see any of that Kentucky Bluegrass, seemed pretty all much green like ours. You will have a great time on your vacation. We did pretty much the same itinerary in 2004 during the Sturgis Rally. It was all interesting, my favorites were the Bad Lands and Custer's Last Stand. Because of time and weather we missed Devils Tower and Crazy Horse NP.

Crazy Horse is a MUST! But go see Mt. Rushmore first. And I agree with Dream Reachers, Custer State park is Fabulous!
