Hello Dreamers! My name is Lynne and I currently reside in the Chicago area. I've had "RV Fever" for about 6 years now, and each year manage to spend more and more time living the lifestyle. Did the typical progression of tent to pop-up to travel trailer to now, a Class C motorhome (Winnie View). Not sure yet whether I'll move up to a bigger rig or try to start out with my current one, but full-timing is certainly in my future within the next couple of years!
At present, owning a sticks-and-bricks house and caring for a chronically ill relative are putting a bit of a damper on my vagabonding, but I still try venture out for short trips whenever I can with my trusty sidekick Millie (my yellow lab retriever).
My hobbies are photography and paddling (canoe/kayak). Reading Howard's journal every day, viewing his lovely images, and reading about his & Linda's great paddling trips gives me plenty of inspiration and ideas!
I'm very fortunate to have a tech career that allows me to work from anywhere I can get a cell and internet connection, so at least I won't need to worry about that part when I do get to make my transition to full-time RV'ing. RVers are the warmest, funniest, and all-around kindest people I've ever met-- I can think of no better "neighbors" to have when my address becomes "Anywhere U.S.A."!

Hi Lynne!
Welcome to the forum!
We are from the Chicago area as well and have been managing to part-time in our 5th wheel at various points over the last year. Right now I'm spending the winter in Mesa, AZ ( those Chicago winters are getting tough on me!) and we have a site we go to in Door County, WI for the summer. I work in tech too, so can work wherever I am. My husband still has a business in Illinois so that ties us down a bit, but we hope to be fulltimers in the near future.

We're originally from Northern Illinois too. Good to have you aboard.
Good luck with your full-timing plans.

Thanks everyone for such a warm welcome! I will certainly try to make it to the chat room soon-- thanks for reminding me about it!
Nice to also see other former Illinois/Chicago folks here too. Our home state has many wonderful virtues, people, and attractions-- but beautiful scenery and delightful weather? Not so much!
Traveljunkie-- the Arizona winters/Wisconsin summers sounds almost exactly like the full-timer route I've been dreaming about. Living in the great places at their greatest times! I love Door County too and go through "fish boil" withdrawls if I don't get to experience that at least once a year!

We're from Northern Illinois too. In fact we are still here. Plan on beginning out fulltime travels sometime next year. Seems like every winter get less tolerable. Hopefully we will only have one more.

Lynne - you will have to let us know when you come up for your 'fish boil' fix. We'll be up there most of the summer and fall. We are heading back from Mesa the first week of April - the spring flowers coming up in the woods of Door County is a must see for me!

Thanks for the compliments Janie-- hope you find some of those tools as useful as I have!
Beth, I'll certainly give you a shout-out next time I'm headed to Door County-- I'm looking forward to spring flowers too! Found a terrific old growth forest preserve in the SW Chicago 'burbs last year that had the most amazing display of bluebells that I'd ever seen, so I can't wait to photograph more spring flowers this year!

Lynne,
I'm another former Illinoisian and former sw burb guy. We've been on the road full-time for 6 months and love it.
You found a great place to meet people and get straight-forward help.
Right now we are in Yuma, AZ. Much better than last year in Barrington with all the cold, snow, ice and miserable driving.
