We had an interesting weekend, as some of you may know, we are picking up our Rig in April, then driving straight to the Rally. After the Rally we want a campground to place our Rig at so we can visit on weekends, launch for weeklong trips, and eventually launch for good. So this past weekend we drove around Upstate NY, and Pennsylvania, and visited 9 different campgrounds. Most of them where covered with snow so it was hard to imagine what it will be like in the spring, but we did our best and think we found a winner. The problem is anything Nice within 3 hrs of NYC is very expensive. We will bite the bullet, spend the bucks to help ensure we have a nice place to go for 6 months. Here is the place we choose. Gene
I don't know if you knew of this one, but it's only about and hour north of the city.

They may not let you stay there for 6 months, but it's worth a call. This park is a little jewel that is not listed in any of the directories, and it's cheap too. Only an hour train ride from Grand Central also.

Gene,
Nice park.
We are doing the same thing until we can go fulltime. Our park is about 3.5 hours from our home and we enjoyed it all last summer. We too picked out the site in mid winter, but we ended up with a winner. I'm sure you are going to love being in your new rig. Congratulations.

Gene, We, like Fred and Jo, thoroughly enjoyed Crotan on the Hudson. It is a very large county park with RV sites.
Everyone likes different things, and the laid back pace of COH was wonderful. Just a few miles north of the Tappan Zee Bridge on U.S. 9. Charles

Hey Gene:
Would you please confirm that Interlake RV Park is Big Rig friendly?Must be, but I got a different report. You’ve been there, we haven’t.
I have been looking for a campground close to the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. (‘Vintage aircraft museum and operation for “vintage” pilots like me.)I just read it wasn’t a Big Rig park and it sure looks otherwise.
Glad it’s going to work for you.
Thanks
Bill
