Are there a lot of RV parks that require you to be 55+ to stay at? Also, can we expect to pay more than the 55+ community of Rvers? 

Go to Campgrounds and Rv parks and read a thread called "what do they have against people under 55". This will answer your question.

Thank you...I read it. It seems we will be okay but may have to search a little more during winter months for a nice place to stay.

My husband and I are both under 55 and travel with two kids. We've not had any trouble finding places to stay. We usually stay in one place for less than a week, so I think that lends toward leniency with parks that might have the 55+ as a standard. In a year of travel, we've only had 2 occurences where this was even remotely an issue. Our biggest challenge was visiting the Phoenix area at Christmas time and we stayed at the McDowell Regional park - a fantastic place! When in southern CA, we stayed in an Escapee's park (Jojoba Hills) that limits families with children to less than 2 weeks. I will also add that the folks in the parks have always been very gracious to our family - especially the kids. HTH - Linda

Even some 55+ parks will let you stay as long as you don't have kids or tattoos.... They want to maintain a quiet peaceful environment so the 55+ rule allows them to limit the younger more rowdy crowd. Not to say that some 55+ folks don't get rowdy....they do. If you travel and stay out of the typical snowbird locations (Yuma, Tucson, Hemet for example) you won't run into many 55+ restriction parks. One park we stay at has a quiet side and a not so quiet side. They put the older RVers on one half of the park and younger RVers or RVers with kids on the other half of the park. They do this whenever possible, but during busy periods everyone gets mixed together.
