We owe much to Abe Lincoln, George Washington and others that made this country the great republic it is today. I wish that schools would teach kids American history like we were taught. There seems little appreciation for our heritage and the cost of lives that were paid for our freedom today.

Amen on the "teaching history".
I heard on a radio talk show within the last two weeks that some schools are now getting history textbooks that begin in the 1870's, not the settling and founding of this great land.
It was noted that the 1870's was when the "progressive" movement started. I've also known of circumstances where founding fathers get little mention in the textbooks, but more modern individuals are covered extensively.

I'm tired of the re-writing of history.
