It's time I introduce myself. My name is Gayle. My husbund Don & I are wannabees from Greenwood, Indiana. We're in our 50's. We actually came to this decision a few years ago. We found that we really enjoyed traveling & seeing new places when our youngest daughter played travel softball. The girls are all grown now. I retired in March '08. Unfortunately, Don still has a few more years of employment to go. I grew up camping/rving with my parents. At one time or another they owned everything from an old army tent to a motorhome. Don on the other hand, gleaned most of his camping experience through scouting. We have camped as a family in tents & later, in a couple of pop-ups until we bought our fifth wheel at the time of my retirement. Although I know that our Mobile Suite is a well built rig for full timing, I often worry that's it's not big enough to carry all the things we'll need plus some of the things we want to bring along, including our 2 furry companions. We recently enrolled in our first rally. An Escapee Escapade in Goshen, IN this Fall. We're looking forward to it as much as a kid looking forward to their first trip to Disney World. I have been following the RV Dreams journal for some time now. Gathering much useful information along the way. (THANKS HOWARD & LINDA)! This is my first experience with a forum, so please bear with me as I learn how to navigate this thing. We sincerely look forward to meeting some, if not all of you, somewhere along life's highway one day. Gayle & Don

Welcome to the forum!
You should be able to pick up a lot of information at the Escapee's rally. I don't know how big your Mobile Suite is, but I think you'll find that you don't need near as much "stuff" as you think.
Full-timing is a much more simple life and you really don't need a lot of clothes and things.
Ask a lot of questions. Rvers are a very helpful bunch of people.
Good luck,
Jim

Hi Gayle and Don.
Welcome to the forum. We too live in Indianapolis. It's good to hear from other Hoosiers who are excited about the RV adventure.
We are planning to go to the Dream Rally in April and are just as excited. I retired last December and waiting for the house to sell. It may slow our start to full timing but not our decision to take some extended trips.
Hope to meet up in the future.

Thanks everyone for making us welcome. I'm always surprised to hear that there are people right in our own backyard that are embracing the full time lifestyle when so many of our friends & family think we're nuts8-)

Welcome from a pair of Okies, one of which sort of has Hoosier connections. Distant relatives in Terre Haute.
Like mentioned before, one learns to get by on less. Many say that if you don't use something in a year's time, it's time to get rid of it. But, good choice of truck and fifth wheel. (See my signature information.)
Feel free to ask questions and make your own comments. Just because you are new doesn't mean you aren't knowledgeable.

We just signed up with Escapees and are going to sign up for the rally in Indiana as well. Perhaps we'll meet. :)
