Well to all you lucky people in nice warm weather... it is snowing here in the Northeast... We have close to 2 1/2 ft of snow... my DH has been plowing out our lane for most of the day.. it is 1/2 mile long... and it drifts up to 6 ft with snows like this... I told him with any luck this will be his last big snow to plow out of the lane... I now amd going off the bake him a double chocolate layer cake with fudge icing so that he will feel the love when he comes in from the cold.... stay warm and safe...patti

We feel really fortunate. We left South Jersey on Monday to fulltime. (We were to leave on Sunday but the snow that fell Saturday postponed us a day).
I've called daughter back home who is buying and living in our house. By the words she used, I guess I should not have started the conversation with "it is 64 and we are sitting outside under the awning in our lawn chairs"...... LOL!
She tells me most of Atlantic and Cape May counties are without power. Hopefully that will not occur up your way. She also tells me of the large drifts. My other daughter is in northern Maryland (White Hall) and says the snow just stopped there and they, too, have high winds and large drifts.
Gosh, we sure did call this one right. We knew when to GET OUT OF TOWN. Your time will come.

It's not all cold beer and rum and coke out on the full time life I'll have you know.
Why just this very morning the campground we were driving too where we had two weeks of reservations called and said "Your camp site is flooded don't try to come until Thursday."
I mean it took ... minutes to make a new reservation.

I posted some pics on our blog that my daughter sent to me from Southern NJ. We lived there until 1/31. She is buying our house. We were about 35 miles from both Phila and Atlantic CIty.
Patti - where is it that you live?

To Two Travelers we see that you are in S. Central Pa. and that was our home area. We are far away from the snow here in south central FL. We decided that we did not want to see any more of the white stuff and just a few minutes ago we visited the WGAL web site and saw what you are getting now and are expecting this afternoon. After that the winds pick up and make it a lot worse. We have friends who are leaving to coming down tomorrow, and we hope that they can get on the roads by than. Good luck in you snow plowing adventures. Since we became full-timers the way we winterize and stay warn is to go South. Lot's of golf courses waiting for you down here.

I live in a small town called Littlestown... it is right on the Maryland / Pa line... I am 12 miles from Gettysburg Pa and 12 miles from Westminster Md...We are getting hammered for the second time in a week with 18 inches or more of snow...Believe me my DH is ready to pack it up and move.. he does not golf but he loves to be on the water.. April 1st the house goes on the market... so maybe next winter we will be someplace wamer than this...patti

Two travelers-
We're in Hazleton, there's a foot of snow that George just used the snowblower on, and more coming down. They've closed I-81 down completely, as well as other highways due to the blizzard conditions. THIS is why we are going FT'ng in a few years. No more snow!!

Over in Pottstown Pa. I threw away the yardstick. Snowing and blowing to fast to measure. Keep looking at the motorhome that is just a snow lump under it's cover.
Have our first trip scheduled for April. I can't hardly wait.

One daughter lives in WHite Hall MD almost to the PA border. The other lives outside Bridgeton, NJ in Cumberland COunty, NJ. That is the one whos pics we have on our blog. She called us earlier and reported bridges to Phila closed as well as all roads, even the main arteries.
I am thinking I wish I was back there for ONE DAY just to see this record snow. Okay, not really.

Well the snow has stopped..Our lane is blown shut again ... so my DH is out plowing again..
There must be 3 ft of snow on top to the 5th wheel.. I hope the roof holds out... this is not the worst snow we have ever had because we still have one row of the fence still showing... in 96 it covered the fence and my son walked on top to it to go out and feed the horses on the property next to ours... the owners could not get up to their barn... so I am Thankful for the 6 inches we did not get...
Well going to make good use of the day and go in the attic to see what needs cleared out...
O my my husband just came in and said the middle of the lane has a drift that must be 8ft...he does not know where he is going to put all this snow... he is mumbling about moving south...I can not type what he is saying... better go calm him down...patti

This summer we are returning to Pa. to work in a campground. We are concerned about his mother's health and will be close to her, she turns 93 this summer. She just went into an assisted living home and is getting along well, but we would like to be in the area. We are from the Lebanon area and will be working about 1 hour and 15 minutes away so we can get to see her. We don't plan on getting back to PA till the snow melts which will be very late April. We will be back in FL by early Nov. All we can say is to throw an extra log on the fire.
