I just came in from shoveling the FIRST foot of snow from our driveway. Yep, you read right...the first FOOT! We're having a major winter storm here in Colorado and it's supposed to continue snowing for the next 24 hours (it started about 18 hours ago) with at least another foot expected! As I was shoveling, I was wondering if I'll miss this. I actually enjoy the snow and don't even mind the occassional shoveling, although I might feel differently tomorrow!
Because I believe everything has a meaning, I was wondering what the universe is trying to tell me. Since we've scheduled our first major garage sale this weekend, is the universe trying to derail us? Telling us to slow down and have second thoughts? Or is this meant as just another reminder of what we won't have to deal with next year? Since I'm trying to focus on the positives, I choose to see the latter.
So wish us luck for a good turnout on Saturday. And for all of you who are enjoying the warm of the South (yes, everything is warm in comparison!), thank your lucky stars!

Good luck with your sale.We are actually doing exactly the opposite of what most people do this time of year.We are leaving Arizona headed back to Colorado to take care of some business at our stix and brix( not ours for long we hope). Choose the latter and let nothing derail your plans.Garage sale people are a hearty lot and won't let snow keep them from a good deal.

Choose the latter, choose the latter!
I will pray for a sunny day for you two.
After being cooped up for a couple of days due to the snow, people will be ready to get out and spend money this weekend. As Racerguy said, garage sale people are a hearty bunch.
Good luck on your sale !

I would only take it as a sign if it snowed at your house and not your neighbors :)

It is definitely a sign. It is a sign that you have taken too long to leave!

Connie, are you in the Denver area? We're in the very northern edge of the Denver metro, and so far, it looks like we've gotten about 20 inches of snow. I'm tired of shoveling!! I said to my husband yesterday - this is why I want outta here! Good luck w/your sale!

I'm in agreement with all of you! We just need to keep "plowing through" and moving forward. The snow did have it's bright side - we're both home from work today and taking advantage of the 'free' day to prep for the sale. Hopefully, that will mean we won't have to stay up into the wee hours on Friday night getting ready! There's a positive side to everything!!

We live above Cedaredge, Colorado. It is about 60 miles east of Grand Junction. We are at the 7,500 ft level. We have about 6 " of very wet snow. I was out Tuesday trying to finish off a solar installation on our 5er and, as I bent over in the basement I began to feel wetness on my neck - sleet! I buttoned up the fiver and now have to wait until tomorrow to finish up. Luckily, I had finished the roof mount and it is sealed up. Can't wait to head south to Imperial Dam north of Yuma.

The only snow I want to see is on a Christmas card!
Good luck with your sale girls. I'm trying to get my better half in gear to start our "thinning out" process.

Connie,
Possibly you should put the same moves on the snow that you displayed while square dancing in Kerrville. A good do-si-do down the driveway would make the snow fly.
Better yet, you and Tracy should allamande right out of Colorado in a new RV!!!

HA! I like your thinking Charles! I think if we tried to do-si-do down the driveway right now, we'd end up on our derrieres! But we're working on the new RV!!

This weekend I played golf in shorts and planted some grass seed. I agree with both RodnReal and Ahoweth.
Hope the garage sale went well.

It's a sign that if you don't go, you will have to contend with more snow and ice this winter. Think about it.
Let's hit the road!

Connie, Sometimes the devil throws up road blocks in our lives. Stay on the positive side and look at this as "we are doing the right thing". I really like the snow, that's why we move from Charleston, SC to Indiana. But Sharon my DW is getting less tolarant of the cold weather.
