We are John and Terri Shea, from sunny Pinellas Park Florida. We have always dreamed of living fulltime on the road in an RV. About 3 months ok, after running across RV-Dreams, I asked Terri what she thought about putting the dream into a reality. I then asked her how that would be for her 50th birthday. She loved it !!!!!! So here we GO !!!!!! First, I want to thank you Linda and Howard for all you do. When we first started reading your blog, Terri and I were amazed at how much your life is exactly like we picture ours some day. We look forward to meeting you both. We also look forward to getting to know the whole RV Dreams family and we want to thank you up front for all the help to get our dreams off the ground and our future travels.
We look forward to hearing from many of you and hope to meet many of you in the years to come!!

I get excited just reading posts from those who are embracing the freedom of full-timing for the first time. A hardy welcome John & Terri...

I'm envious of you. Wish we only had that long to go. Welcome to the forum. As you can see, RV-Dreams is a great place to learn. I wish you the best.
BTW-it seems like I talked to somebody from Pinellas Park on ham radio a few years back.

Welcome to the forum, John and Terri,
You'll be surprised how fast those 3 years will go by. If you're like the rest of us, it will take you that long to get rid of all that "stuff" and get ready to hit the road.
Good luck with your RV Dreams.
Jim

Welcome John & Terri. We are hoping we can make it to this rally. It is the week after our son's Spring Break. If we can find someone to stay with him and the animals we hope to be there. We are so ready to go now but our son is a sophmore. He has no desire to go fulltiming.

You will enjoy the rally. Linda and Howard have so much information to forward to you and helpful hints that will make the transition so much sweeter. Another thing about the rally is the fact that you will meet so many people that have fulltimed for years. While you are there take advantage of all these years of fulltiming experience and ask all the questions you can. You will meet new friends that will soon be family on the road. No matter where you head off to in this lifestyle some of your family will be near by.

Like so many others, we felt an immediate connection with Howard and Linda upon first finding their website. Not only does it go to show how special they are, but also how alike we all are! We attended our first rally this year and it was one of the best experiences of our lives. It is an amazing source of information, not just from the seminars but from all of the current fulltimers. And you will be welcomed into the family so quickly that it will seem like you've always been a part of them. We're about 6-9 months away from starting our fulltime dream and while I hope everyone is right that it will go fast, there are many days that it seems so painfully far away. Welcome to the forum and to the family! It's a wonderful group.

welcome to the forum.
Good luck on your future. We started planning our fulltiming 3 years ago and it has gone fast! We still have a little over 5 years to go before we can officially retire and hit the road and hope it goes fast as well.
Keep yourself focused on your goal and, like us, work your plan. Hope to meet you out on the road someday.

Welcome John & Terri, I'm new here too. It's day 358 on my one year countdown. I have a ton of stuff to learn and do. I'm sure you do too. In the short time I've been here I've found the site and forum to be both welcoming and informative. Seem to be a whole bunch of nice folks here as well. Can't wait to hear from you as you progress!

Hi John and Terri. Three years will fly by faster than you would believe. When I first met my wife, I had 17 years to go till I could retire and sail our boat around the world. Now it is only 7 months away. But as to waiting, why wait, We have been living in an RV for over 10 years while I am still working. I do travel a lot for my job, and the RV started as a method to move around with my job. Finally my job turned into so much traveling that we had to give up following it around, and parked semi permanently in an RV Park. But the point is we are still living in the RV. We can still unhook and be moving within 20 minutes, and it really does not matter where we park, as long as I can get to my work. What is the difference a house in the suburbs, or an RV parked at an RV park in the suburbs. My wife runs VA (virtual assistant) business out of our RV. This business can travel with us be it on the boat or in the RV. As long as she has an internet connection she can work. Moving in now can also get you all organized for your jumping off day. When you do cut the ties with that JOB (Just Over Broke) all you have to do is unplug and go. Enjoy

Thanks to all for the warm welcome. I had no idea this forum would have so many people all willing to welcome us into this family. Things are so different from the world around us in the rat race. This is one of the reasons we enjoy camping so much, the pace of life slows down and people usually take the time to say hello and be freindly. We look forward to meeting many of you on the road one day and will continue to enjoy the inputs of everyone on this forum.
