Never had to do it, but I have wondered if there are items in my coach that won't fit through the door, if I had a catastrophic failure of something big, like the fridge.

I think it is a great idea. Like you said if the coach is sound and you feel good about it why not re-do the inside. All the things you mentioned can be changed out and many by you. Good luck on the project if you decide to take it on...keep us all updated.

We completely re-did the interior of a 70's winnebago chief motorhome for my in-laws. Removed carpet and replaced with vinyl tiles, new carpet for the driving area, new window treatments and had the cushions rebuilt and recovered. It looked brand new inside and held up well during the 6 years they had the MH. We recently cut into a cabinet in our living room area and added an electric fireplace and then replaced the dining table with a built in desk and expandable dining table. We replaced our original recliners with new Lazy Boy recliners. New select comfort bed just arrived. Next step is to replace the carpet with tiles (probably stone). With the changes we've made our 5th wheel feels brand new. So just like a house you can do things to perk up a worn or dated interior in an RV. I've seen RVs where folks have re-did the interior with a theme look, one looked like a cottage, another had the retro look of the 50's, I even saw one that looked like the inside of the Starship Enterprise from the original Star Trek TV show.

Well it is yours to do with as you please.  In our 5th wheel which was only 2 years old we replaced the carpet in the lounge and kitchen with laminate,  replaced the faucets with residential faucets,  got rid of the mattress, recliners, sofa, and window coverings and replaced the furniture with what we found comfortable and the window coverings with what we liked.  It is our home and we made it feel that way.

We did almost the same as Jesse and Ginger. The only piece of original furniture left in out 3 year old fiver is one end table. Once you finally decide it's your home, you want to make it to your tastes. We are in the process of changing the window treatments and will probably paint the interior when the carpet is done and we put in laminate flooring.
