We are planning our great adventure in approx one year. During the next 12 months the list of things to do is sooo longgggggg. I get nervous just thinking about it, it is hard to focus, between the overwhelming list, and the excitement, i find myself getting paralyzed, which of course does not help me to knock off things on the list, which makes me more nervous. The thought of pulling out of my driveway, heading down the road for the weekend that never ends, makes me feel like a kid on christmas morning. I find myself just wanting to read about RVING FULLTIME, researching RVS, Browsing the camping world catalouge, ETC...ETC.... It is all i think of. This is not good, because i must focus on the tasks at hand, so we can leave on time...Thanks for letting me share these thoughts. Gene.

Though your obsession de jour with RVing is a good thing.

If it wanes to the point of indifference before your ready to full timing that would be a clue to step back and reconsider all the options.

I know your pain we started this trip 3 years ago, but alas the new fith wheel will arive this week. I don't know if fulltime is in future but lotatime is for sure.I learned how to think like an oyster they must have all the patience in the world cause al they can do is lay there  john

I don't know if it's any help, but a lot of us have gone through what you are experiencing. The emotional ups and down are unreal, and probably at times you'll be questioning your sanity.

Hang in there though, you'll get through it, and everything will work out. Maybe not like you had planned, but it'll work out.

I agree with Jim - I'm about half way throught the process and have often questioned my own sanity. BUT, recently we finally spent our first night RV'ing and it was great! So....hang in there, prioritize the list and have fun at it. I think that some nervousness is just human. You'll figure it out.

Gene I know how you feel, I feel exactly the same way.  I have a lot of work to do but cannot concentrate on anything else than hoping for fulltiming day to get here LOL.

And we take off 10/5. Still stuff to do. One thing at a time. Otherwise my head would explode. Messy.

Sherri and I have been fulltiming for 3 years now and love it. We have second thoughts often but then when we pull into a new site and see what all there is to see....well we just love it that much more. There are many of us out here and we are here to help you when you need someone to bounce a question off of. Let the fun begin....

Rod and I are in the same frame of mind right now. The thoughts of FT'ing and all that it takes to make it happen... consumes us. Every once in awhile, a little devil pops in my head to try and get me off course. He won't win, my mind is made up and its just a matter of making it happen. We are figuring out our budget, health insurance, when we will be where, etc. I've already thought about how many garage sales I'll have. Which items will be Craiglisted, what we need to do to the house in order to put it on the market come spring. I think about it 24/7. Since its almost fall and good camping weather, I guess we could go camping to try and stop thinking about all of this. But I think our condition will only worsen. LOL In fact, I know it will. Good luck to you. Right now, the planning and anticipation is what helps me keep my sanity at work.

I can echo so many of the same sentiments.  As a matter of fact, I'm at work now on a Friday morning reading this forum instead of working! :)  There is no doubt that I am obsessed...just ask Tracy!  It's practically all I think about and talk about, at least to her.  We haven't shared our plan with anyone yet, but I feel like we need to start those discussions, which I think will make it all the more real.  There are so many days when this feels like just a dream and I'm afraid I'll wake up and realize it isn't going to happen.  My emotions are definitely on a roller coaster...one day I'm certain this is our destiny and the next I'm thinking I've lost my mind.  I'm hoping that as our d-day gets closer, there will be more good days and less bad.  I'm looking forward to the day when the decision is no longer a question, but a statement.  I'm not there yet, but trying to take baby steps every day to reach it.  And I rely on this forum often to provide confidence that we're not all that crazy.  Rarely a day goes by that I'm not on at least once.  It's comforting to know that we're not alone.  Thanks!

Sounds so familiar!! We just sold our house (August 14th) and we are now official fulltimers. I don't think the reality has hit us yet. We had waited so long for this day and many times thought it would not happen. We have felt many of the feelings that you discribed in your post. Hang in there, read alot, learn alot and its never too early to "purge" your junk. LOL

Sounds like you are going through a lot of what we went through. We started planning about 18 months out and it went by pretty quickly. It gave us time to discuss, ponder, dream, plan and get ready. I think the best thing you can do it go with your emotions while you move through your list of things to get done. In the mean time enjoy the whole process. We sure did. We have been full-timing for 3 months now. We have a lot to learn and are enjoying it.

It was 42 degrees here last night. Patience is wearing thin. I am sitting here typing with 3 layers of clothes on and my moose hide slippers. Hubby is working on the valve on our propane tank. We have to order tires which will take a week to come in. Can't find a trailer with in our price range. Waiting for realitor to return my call. Still alot of stuff to sell and get rid of. Wish I was in Florida. It is either laugh or cry. So I am laughing.
