I'm no longer a lurker, (yea! a big step for me). I have been following Linda and Howard's journal and this forum for almost a year. After visiting them last month in northern California, I finally registered to introduce myself.
This is the first time that I have participated in any online forum, so please bear with me. I have been wanting to RV fulltime for over ten years. The timing just wasn't right, kids still at home and LIFE happening. They're now grown and out on their own. It's time for me. I am hoping to retire in a year or so. Like everyone else I have to sell (mine's a mobile home in a park) before I can get an RV. I would like a five'r for the room, but since I'll be doing this on my own a MH would be more practical. I just figure when the time is right and I know what I have to work with, things will just fall into place.
Even when I do retire, I know that I will have to suppliment my soc. sec. by continuing to "work", hopefully part time. Even though I will be on an extremely small budget, I feel confident that it can be done. Everyone of you out there has been sooooooo helpful. I have learned a lot especially about choices and being confident about those choices. I want to say Thank You to all of you.
I am deffinitely new at this, especially the technical part, RVing, RV maintenance and the computer. When it gets closer I will probably be asking a lot of questions or asking for suggestions.
Again, thank you in advance for all of your help and insight.

Welcome Susan,
You've found a great forum for your first posts. The folks here are very friendly and will help you in any way they can. Don't worry about making a mistake, or asking a silly or dumb question. On this forum, there are no silly or dumb questions, many people are new to all of this, and we've all had to go through the learning process.
So, just ask. We'll try to help.

Thank you both for warm welcome.
I really enjoy reading everyone's blog. It lets me understand what the daily life is like when you are out there on the road or still working while waiting to get there.
It will be great to meet any of the Dreamer at any time.

Hi Susan! You know, one thing that could work for you is to go ahead and sell your home now, purchase whatever you are going to live and travel in and park it in a local RV park and continue working. You kind of get to "ease" into the whole RV thing without changing everything at once.
Just something to think about!

Welcome Susan...good to have you aboard the forum. Along with Howard's wonderful entries on the main page there are also threads about 5'ers versus MH's, a couple are very recent, so you should be able to get a better idea of the pro's and con's of each.
For jobs, my number one recommendation is workamper.com (subscription site). You can subscribe to the daily hotline emails, or just login everyday to see them online.
Thank you Paula, yes I have thought about that. I had it on the market a couple of years ago, but took it off after a year. It was when everything took a downturn. I had only a few that asked to see it but no offers. Stuff was put in storage but that was too expensive. Other things changed so I just took it off. I will probably wait until I can sort through the stuff before I do it again.
Dan, Thank you for the suggestions. I periodically check those sites out to see what is current, but I need to stay fulltime where I'm at to maximize my retirement, healthcare etc.
When it gets closer I will know more of what I am dealing with as to my resorces then. In the meantime I appreciate any and all suggestions.
Thanks again for all the well wishes and suggestions. I hope to see you all out on the road In a couple of years.
Susan
