I'm new to this site. Just wanted to say hello to everyone from sunny Florida. My wife and I have been RVng for a couple of years now. We don't have the opportunity to travel farther than the surrounding states, but hope that changes in the near future.
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know the site and everyone......

Welcome to the Forum!
We have been fulltiming for a year. Unfortunately our trip will be coming to an end in the next few months as we need to go back to work. We have decided to move from New England to the beautiful Sunshine State. We will be moving to St. Augustine, FL in October - we absolutely fell in love with that area last year.
If you are going to be camping in that area, I highly recommend Anastasia State Park and North Beach Campground. If I remember correctly, North Beach was kind of pricey, but with a nice hot tub, pool, and proximity to the beach it was well worth it.

Anastasia state park is one of our favourite places. We live only 30min from the park, but it can be a very hard park to get a site. always full.

Welcome!!!
We usually winter down there in FL. We have a daughter in the Orange City area. (Between Orlando and Daytona Beach),
You're right, Anastasia is hard to get into. We have tried a couple of times, and it's always full when we come through the area.
Maybe we'll run into you one of these days.

GREAT NEWS! I have been following your journey and was wondering where you would finally settle down for a while.
We live about 2 hours from St Augustine, it is one of the prettiest areas.
I relocated to FL from NE in 1980 and I do not like the Florida summers at all, brutally hot and humid.
If you enjoy peace and quiet for camping I would highly recommend Elite Resorts in Crystal River a/k/a Rock Crusher Campground. Heavily wooded campground, very clean, accepts Passport and easy drive to the ocean and Homassasa Springs. It is our weekend getaway at least two weekends a month.
Our 1st RV was a KZ and I was pleased to see you own a KZ we were very happy with it, but we needed something larger. Susan

WELCOME - so nice to hear from other Floridians!
We are Gary & Susan along with our two dogs Honda & Diesel and we reside in Howey In The Hills, FL and we are full time wannabes, currently weekenders.
We'd love to hear of campgrounds in Florida that you would recommend, we pretty much stick to one because we love it so much, Elite Resorts in Crystal River, with Passport it can't be beat for a weekend getaway. We have also been to the Salt Springs Elite Resort but we prefer the quiet on the weekends and not being packed in like sardines.
Like you we are hopeful that our status can change to full time in the near future.

We agree about the summers......It is hard to camp here in the summer if you don't have access to the water.
Gary and Susan, where is Howey in the Hills? Not familiar....
Pierre & Colleen, we love St. Augustine. It is my (Rhonda) favorite place to go, camping or not. We especially love it during the cooler months when most of the tourist have gone home. Nothing like a walk in St. Augustine in December.....
Jim....just make your reservations for Anastasia for 6 months from now.... That's how we get in........
Anyway, thanks for the welcomes.........

We're hoping to work something out so that we can spend our summers in New England with family and friends, but not sure how that will work as far as employment goes.
We also stayed at a quiet little park in Carrabelle, FL. I think the park was called Ho-Hum. It was nothing fancy, but we were able to back our rig right up to the beach. Gorgeous sunrises and sunsets.

Howey In the Hills is just a little north of Orlando, exactly 12 miles north of Clermont and approximately 30 minutes south of Lady Lake, or The Villages and about an hour south from Ocala.
It is a sleepy little town, with approx 1100 residents and we LOVE the peace and quiet.
