Greetings to all. This is my second post on this site, but really have enjoyed lurking for the past several months. The wife and I live just North of Lake Tahoe, CA. We have been planning on retiring and fulltiming since.......I can't remember. The wife is retired, but I am ready to do so right after we get the house sold. I am listing it the end of next week once done with interviewing realtors.
We hope to be on the road September 1st. Our current steed is a 2003 Suncruiser on a Workhorse chassis. This has been a great Moho, and currently has 23k miles on the clock. I am looking forward to exponentially adding to this number. I won't use big words too often, as I am just a simple firefighter. But I will try and keep up with all of you
I am currently a FD Battalion Chief, and my specialty is delivering the mail to different stations. This site should be right up my alley.
You all are experts at this fulltime thing, so I will bend your ears from time to time if you don't mind. Please feel free to ask me anything, let me see what do I know other than which extinguisher to use on which class of fire, or which way your hand should rotate when putting wax on above the equator. Considering the Coriolis effect and all.
This is a great site and I look forward to being part of it.

Welcome to the forum and soon to full-timing. My husband is a retired chief from Annapolis. We have a Freightliner that pulls our 41' KZ Escalade Toy Hauler, home for our Harley-Davidson trike.
You can see more in our blog (check my sig).

Welcome Greg. I posted a response to your other post but wanted to say Hi and wish you good luck in the sale of your S&B. Some positive signs in the real estate market recently, even California. My DW is a retired C21 agent from Marysville/Yuba City/Browns Valley (the flatland) and we have been getting good reports from her friends still in the business. We used to ski all the hills around the lake so know what winter can be like up there. We did spend part of our first winter (after going full-timing) in Verdi, wasn't as bad as I expected on that side of the hill.

Thanks all for the welcome. Norcal Dan, I have a brother that lives in Verdi. It is amazing the difference between here and there. I also have some good RV friends that live just above Collins lake on Marysville rd. I look forward to joining your ranks soon, I hope the housing market is kind to us.

Glad to have you aboard. Be sure to ask questions. As you probably know, this is a real friendly group, and someone will have an answer for you.
Good luck on the sale of your house.

Thanks Jim, I am optimistic despite the constantly nagging rational thoughts in my head. The wife and I are fearful of leaving our home of 25 years and living in a 300 square foot rolling condo. I am sure most of you have experienced some of these same feelings, but I feel that I am in good company. I know that this is what we want to do, and I am excited to get on the road and put this phase behind us.

Welcome to the forum, chief. You're going to love your journey. But don't make the mistake of thinking everyday is euphoric. There will be disappointment, disillusionment, and depression. But then the rain will stop and the sun will come out and you'll be glad you did this. The downs only last a few minutes.
We took the full time plunge back in January, still learning so much even though we've MHomed for years. You'll never regret the move. Follow us for information and photos if you like at my website posted below.
Again, welcome.

Thanks Larry for the encouragement. I feel that everything will turn out fine, and feel fortunate that DW and I both enjoy the lifestyle. I am just coming to cope with the fact that this retirement stuff is a lot of work

Welcome to the forum. I am fairly new to RV-Dreams myself and plan on starting the RV life myself.

I think I have the Realtor picked out, and hope to be listed by the end of the week. Keeping my fingers crossed. Prices are down a little, but the area is still sought after. Stay tuned.
