We will be leaving for Florida December 5....as Larry's last day of work will be December 4. He will be retired and off we will go as fulltimers, and we are so happy, and excited. We've got the MH packed and ready, and other than filling the refrigerator with stuff we are ready to roll. After 38 years with his company working .....Larry is so looking forward to his retirement, and leaving this COLD New England weather. We have been in a whirlwind getting everything ready and saying all our good byes and seeing everyone ...but after all is said and done...we are so ready to start our new journey. Life is good ! Thanks everyone for all your advice and all your warm wishes. We'll keep in touch along the way. Arlene & Larry

Congratulations!!!
I can remember the mixed emotions as we drove out of the driveway. It's so exciting to finally be on the road and starting a new life-style, but at the same time, (for us), it was kind of scary too.
I hope you enjoy it as much as we have. We're still not anywhere near ready to settle down yet.
Good Luck,
Jim

Retirement.....Doesn't that word have a nice ring to it. Congrats and welcome to Full timing, another nice sounding combination of words. We know how you are feeling, it was just over a year ago for us that we took the plunge and changed our life style and it's been a great ride. We will be leaving Dec.27th from our daughters home in West Virginia heading to Fort Myers, Florida. We wish you both a Safe and Happy Journey and hope to see you on the road someday. Gummy

Congratulations on your impending retirement. We are moving slowly towards that end although I have had to postpone my retirement from Feb 09 to April 09. We are still moving forward and have already purchased our Pickup and just ordered our 5th Wheel. A minor set back but will happily join you on the road soon. Enjoy

Thanks for the good wishes rwarner22...and everyone. Loralie that sounds familiar, and it is coming fast for you too. Racerguy the time will go by quickly for you and before you realize it...April will be here. This past few months have flown. So much to do....time has been flying by. Jim...we too of course have had mixed emotions all along, but after waiting more than a year to sell the house....we are now ready, but we know what you mean for sure. It was perhaps a good thing not selling fast... as we got to live with the idea for a while and go through all the emotions, and by the end we were just anxious to have it happen, and very thankful for the opportunity. With the economy we feel we have been given a special gift....selling the house, and being able to start a new journey with Larry's retirement. I'm sure it will be an adjustment, but we will begin with a happy...positive...ready to start a new adventure attitude. A little scary perhaps...but we've been together from high school sweetheart days....college...and married for almost 44 years ...and been thru scary before as all of us have I'm sure, but with a lot of faith and help from God we've been fine. I'd say we we grew up together, but we never want to grow up...older sure.... but never grown up ! hee hee Gummy...enjoy Fort Myers....and yes the word retirement is sounding better each day to Larry. He has just 6 more work days left!!! Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. All our best wishes to everyone ... out there living their dream...to those about to begin their dream....and to those who will be fulltiming and living their dream in the future.

My two favorite sayings about retirement:
1- I've got nothing on today's schedule and won't finish by the end of the day.
2- Successful retirement is forgetting which day it is.
All the best.

I wish my husband would agree to sell everything and go fulltime now that we're retired. Alas, it's just a pipe dream of mine.......

Arlene,
Are you going to keep a blog? I like your writing style and would enjoy following your travels on-line.
