I saw it too. Silliest thing I've ever seen. Don't these people do any surveys before they create something like this?

I agree with gypsy....

The guy next to us has a Titanium 5er where the whole back lifts up (like the door on a toy box but hinged on the top) and a steel deck slides out from under the trailer to make a covered deck. There are patio doors behind the door that swings up to make a roof. Interesting idea that didn't become too popular. It's about 5 years old. I see lots of Titaniums but have never seen this before. I haven't talked to them but I did watch him close it up and it looked like a real pain. I guess we'll see if the veranda from Country Coach becomes a must have.

The "Veranda" was at the Seattle RV Show last month........list price $595,000......think I'll pass;))

My veranda is 3,794,083 square miles big  and I can choose to sit in whichever corner I wish.

You're right, Susie.  I wonder if a person wants the veranda so they could sit outdoors but be a little above everyone else, and then they could look down on the rest of us.

Some people just have to out do the next fellow??? Me I'll just set under my awning until it blows off and then I will settle for just settin. Why do we want to make having fun complicated? I just want to see some of the places I only had the chance to read about over the years. What I see it in does not really matter...No thank you I don't need a veranda I just need a view. I think opinions like this are way to harsh. A Veranda is not for me, but I can see some segments that would appreciate it.

A friend of mine saw the magazine picture and felt a feature like this would have kept his mobility impaired mother in the RV longer if the option had been around then.

I can also see it appealing to smokers.

The question is if these market segments will have enough volume to keep it alive.

Time will tell.

Come on folks!  They make the Veranda in several of their price levels, so you can get them anywhere from 350K to 750K.  I looked at them at the Pomona RV show, and they were awesome.  Some of the kitchen layouts were compromised, but if you get the right one, it would be fantastic.  Just think about all the times you have to spend an hour getting your "patio" area set up.  This gives you that ability with the push of a button.  I also liked the large screen door, and it's ability to let lots of outside air into the coach, without the bugs.  You can get the fancy LCD TV for the patio if you want, but I really just liked being able to sit at a bistro table, up off the ground, under the awning.  I sure wish I had one when we were caught in a serious downpour this summer.  Our patio rugs were under 2" of mud.  With this thing, we would have sat outside drinking coffee on the veranda watching everyone else dig ditches around their campsites.  To each, his own!
