Hi Everyone. Well, after 15 years the RV-Dreams Community Forum is coming to an end. Since it began in August 2005, we've had 58 Million page views, 124,000 posts, and we've spent about $15,000 to keep this valuable resource for RVers free and open. But since we are now off the road and have settled down for the next chapter of our lives, we are taking the Forum down effective June 30, 2021. It has been a tough decision, but it is now time.

We want to thank all of our members for their participation and input over the years, and we want to especially thank those that have acted as Moderators for us during our amazing journey living and traveling in our RV and growing the RV-Dreams Family. We will be forever proud to have been founders of this Forum and to have been supported by such a wonderful community. Thank you all!!

Collapsible Bowls

I am always looking for new and interesting things that make RV life a little less cluttered. I discovered some collapsible storage bowls on one of our trips and thought they looked interesting so I bought two different sizes. I lilked them, but they are a little expensive (for storage containers). They sure do save a lot of space. I see that Tupperware sells them but I have not tried theirs. Have any of you tried these bowls for storage of leftover foods etc.? I recently bought some cheaper versions so I have not used them enough to see how they last. They seem like a good idea, even to use in my stick house. The clutter in the storage drawer with bowls and lids can be overwhelming. These bowls collapse for storage with the lids on them. Anyone have experience with these bowls? Some ideas look good, but in practice don't work too well.

Bonnie

So far I have only purchased one of these bowls, expensive....yes. I do use it often and even for freezing things it works well.  Sometimes I do have trouble getting the bowl to pull it up (to be able to stretch it out) as hands arent what they used to be.

I also have purchased the collapsible bowls to try out before we start fulltiming (I retire in April and we have already listed our house to sell...but, no takers yet).  I wanted to see how they worked and if they were durable enough to warrant the cost.  I've been using them for a month or so for leftovers and storing them in the freezer.  So far, I like them alot.  They seem to be holding up very well and they sure don't take up much space.  I especially like that you can store the lid on them and they still don't take up storage space.  They collapse to about the same amount of space that a regular Tupperware lid takes up.  Almost forgot to mention that I've been washing them in the dishwasher on the top rack and they take that very well also.  I think I'll purchase more when we actually get ready to move into the RV.

Thanks Donna. I was hoping someone would be able to tell me how they hold up to all their claims. I purchased a set of three at "Fred's" a local discount store and thought I would try them out. The collapsible quality and storage lid is a great idea, so I am going to try them out too. Thanks for your input, I think I will get some more if I can find a good deal. Maybe I can find some at the outlet mall when we go shopping today. I stumbled across an ad on the itnernet from Tupperware for a set of three for $19.00. I don't know if their quality would be better but that is a little pricy. I am going on a bargain hunt for cheap collapsible bowls.
